Hey there Bees!
This will be a sort of 2 part post, sorry to be confusing! Happy to separate into two different discussions if need be.
I found this dress (Emma) online about a week ago and absolutely fell in love. I showed it to the fiancee and he said he really liked it (I’ve been showing him heaps that I find and like haha). He then turned around today and commented, completely out of the blue, that he really really liked ‘that goldish dress with the little sleevey things and see-through bit in the skirt’. I never thought about how a dress might make an impact in his mind – has anyone else experienced this, and did it effect your dress decision? I would love to get a dress that he loves, and yes I know he will love me in whatever I wear, but I didn’t realise until today how much it meant to me to have a dress that he likes on its own.
Second part to this post – does anyone happen to have any pics of them in this dress by any chance? I’m thinking it must be a relatively new dress, so mabey not yet, but I hope so! None of the stores in my area have it in store so I can’t go try it on, but I’d love to see what it looks like on a real person. I particularly like the gold colour! I thought I’d be a white-white girl, but something about this colour (at least in the pic) just speaks to me.
Thanks! π
(Edit) Here is the dress in the light gold: http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?style=13533&page=0&pageSize=36&keywordText=&keywordType=All
It’s also in this clip, at 3:10 – http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=UM7T-HFdgS0#!
π Totally in love with this dress

Wow thanks for all the pics! Looking at these made me realise how much I really do love the design, so I called around the stores near me again, and lo and behold one of them DID have a sample in, it was just under a different name for some reason! They even had it in the light gold colour too π I tried it on (the only dress I’ve tried on) and fell in love with it hard and fast – definitely the one! I don’t even think I’ll try anything else on, this is it! It feels so special on, so damn beautiful with all the subtle beading and gorgeous lace *sigh*

It is a dream dress π I have ordered it for my wedding in August his year; unfortunately I don’t have it yet, but will post the pics when I get it. I also chose it in pale gold. I’m not sure I will keep the cap sleeves though. If you watch the extended version of the video from the NY fashion show, you can see one of the sleeves keeps slipping off the model’s shoulder (the link to the video is on Maggie Sottero’s website, look for the one that says “behind scenes interviews”)
You are right about it being a new dress, it is part of MS spring 2013 bridal collection. Hot off the runway π and don’t you just love the music used in the video?

I am super excited to see other brides taling about Emma!! This is my dress. Im getting married in July and the dress is expected to be here in May or June. I ordered it in the light gold without the cap sleeve.
Thanks for sharing your photos of the dress, I’m wondering what color it was photographed in?? I only ask because the light gold can look darker in some light and almost ivory in other.
The image on the web of the runway model does not do this dress justice!
I have a close up of the top part of the dress that shows the detail and beading.
I will share more as soon as my order comes in.
Happy Planning ladies!!

Oh man the gold looks so beautiful!!, I ordered mine in ivory (same as the pics above) as they told me (&looks like they exaggerated) the gold was more a darker coffee shade.
Can’t wait to see more pictures ladies , i am not coping well with waiting for my dress to come in.

@julybride77 Thanks for the pictures showing the light gold! The shade does appear to vary quite a bit, depending on the lighting – and also, I think, depending on the contrast with the bride’s skin tone (looking darker against very pale skin and lighter on darker-skinned ladies). I think that’s actually quite special, as it gives the dress even more personality π
@red panda I so know what you mean about waiting for the dress.. It’s incredibly stressful. I am concerned about which shoes to get, because I’m worried that the heel might make the dress look too short! I think this design would look gorgeous in all three colourways, so I am sure that if ivory is what you like best with your skin and hair colour, it will be just perfect π
@christoffels Thanks for making this thread for the Emma-brides! I think your fiance will be so thrilled at the wedding to see you in his favourite dress. They don’t like to admit it, but boys are actually pretty sentimental, I think π

Emma is BEAUTIFUL in ANY color! Ladies, If I might offer some advice on your color choice… I too saw the dress in a Bridal Mag, and I knew it was the dress for me. When I found a store that had it in I couldn’t wait to try it on. They had their sample in the Light Gold, and I was in love… that is until after I tried it and saw it hanging next to a dummy in a black tux and white shirt. Panic set in. In that moment I realized how not-white the light gold was. All I could think about was my dream of an all white bouquet, the white shirts for the Groom and his Groomsmen..
I went ahead and told myself that I would figure the rest out, I couldn’t plan the wedding around the white details, I had the perfec dress, the rest would fall into place..
So a few weeks later, I thought, ok ivory shirts for the men. Well the ones they had at the tux place looked terrible, not the kind of ivory I pictured (more yellow). What was I going to do?? I even called the dress shop to see if it was too late to change the dress color. It was.
You will all hear from the tux shop and different wedding blogs that an off white, ivory or light gold dress will look “dirty” next to a white shirt. DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS.
It took me some time to feel comfortable with knowing you can mix all shades of white. The combination is actually amazing if done right.
I found a photo of a groom in a black tux, white shirt and ivory vest and ivory tie..It looks sharp. Google “black tux with ivory vest”
I also found amazing bouquets with white and creme or ivory, the trick is to do an equal ratio of the differnt shades of white you want to use, then add your pop of color. I can share those pics and ideas here too if you want.
Bottom line, Get the dress you love π
