HersheysKisses:  It costs $100 less without the sleeves. If the store doesn’t inform you, ask them about it.

I bought mine at bestbridalprices.com (an authorized Maggie Sottero retailer) after having tried it on at a local shop. You have to have an American form of payment and shipping address, but there was no tax, free shipping, and they had a deal for a free veil and shoes. So I paid $1289 all in (with sleeves).

It’s due to come in the first week of December and I’m so excited to try it on again!

Thanks everyone. I may just order them and see what happens. I do have a good seamstress that may be able to alter them to be more like staps like what I had tried on rather than sleeves.

Hi All,

I have ordered the Emma T dress for my wedding next march in the antique gold (it is similar to the emma, it has a longer train, an internal corset and external covered buttons)I also have ordered the capped sleeves I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE my dress but i am stuck on what bridesmaid color. I want to avoid pink if possible I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions and or photos of what they did with with the antique gold

Hi fellow Emma brides, I’m having a bit of an urgent dress situation. It is beautiful but it’s possible that my dress is labeled a 12 but is actually a 14.  It’s much bigger in me now than it should be (and I’ve gained weight !).

For those with a size 12 or 14 Emma (pre-altered),  I could use a HUGE favor…. would you mind measuring the fabric at the top (boob area!) of the dress, from end to end where the corset starts  and ends? In other words , how many inches of fabric to go all the way around near the top (excluding actual corset part ? Thank you soooo much! Please post as soon as possible as I have to decide if I’m going to ship my dress back. Wedding is only 6 weeks away. Thanks ladies !! 🙂

Donna1114:  I don’t know about measurements but I can tell you that when the dress came in (even in my size) the boob area was huge. The seamstress was telling me that typically that area will always be pretty big so that it can be altered as necessary. The transformation with just a few pins was amazing.. Basically when I put it on without any pinning there was about a 3 inch gap until she pinned it closer to me, here and there, and is going to adjust the sweetheart neckline a bit too so it lays where appropriate. With your wedding so close, I wouldn’t reccomend sending it back especially for one size difference. I would just suggest making sure your seamstress knows what they’re doing!

jay.r.goff:  My girls are wearing long, navy chiffon dresses and I have the Light Gold Emma. Hubby to be and the groomsmen will be wearing black tuxes and our floral theme is ivory, blush, and pink tones.

I think any color would go fabulous, especially a champagne tone!

HappilyEverHughes1025:  Thank you so much for your feedback! Very helpful and much appreciated. I decided I definitely don’t want to ship. I’m hoping I like my seamstress I’m meeting with tomorrow and she will make the dress perfect!

Can anyone tell me what they spent or are spending on alterations for Emma? I need the whole thing taken in, hem and bustle. Thx!

Donna1114:  No problem!!! It sounds like our weddings are around the same date.. ours is the 25th of October!  I would just be so nervous for you that it wouldn’t make it back in time for any alterations at that point. As far as cost for alterations, I purchased my gown at Kleinfeld and they have a flat rate alteration price, so I’m not much help there. Best of luck to you!!!

Donna1114:  I’m having mine taken in, molded cups, hemmed and french bustle. My seamstress is charging $650. Pretty expensive, but I’m having everything done and she’s the only one I feel confident with shortening it!

I don’t have access to the dress, but mine is a 12 and it’s quite large in the chest, but I’m a B cup so most everything is! LOL! I hope this helps!

Hello fellow Emma brides. This is my dress too, It doesn’t come in until January and I’m trying to decide what accessories to wear with it. I’ve ordered her in Ivory and I will be wearing the cap sleeves. I have my veil and shoes but i’m stumped when it comes to the necklace. As I’m having the sleeves I don’t want anything too heavy because they’ll be a lot of detail in the dress already and I don’t want to detract from that. What are others going for? I’d love to see some pics!

Thanks

Hello! I just got my dress- Emma in Ivory, size 18. I actually got it used for $600, which is still a lot for a ramen-eating college kid. A little scary getting it online, because I couldn’t try it on! This is just the ribbon from the corset, I’ll probabally get a ribbon belt later.
