harleybeachbride6 :  hi I also am sorry I didnt see your post/question abt the straps from 3 weeks ago until now!

I ended up donating my extra straps that I purchased to my seamstress so another bride can use them in the future so I dont have a picture.

Basically they were wide, flat lace straps that the bridal shop ordered for me. They werent entirely comparible with the Emma dress because they had no beading whatsoever. The bridal salon said that my seamstress could remove the beads from the first straps and put them on the new straps. I imagine this would have been meticulous work!

luckily my seamstress could take out the darting from the capped sleeve straps and they look good to me now!

Here’s some pictures of my Emma dress. I chose the zip back option, sleeveless, I hemmed the under layer train and just had the lace overlay and since my wedding was August 27th I didn’t have any crinoline because I wanted the dress to be as light as possible. It’s also in Ivory. 🙂

keames575 :  thank you for sharing!

Great pics love seeing Emma. I also love how you altered the train…so light and flowey!! :+)

I bet it totally made it easy to walk in…

Thinking of doing that although it’s so pretty w the lace edges extending psst the under layer…tough decision!

Congrats!!! :+)

Hi everyone! I have been following this thread forever! I am getting married Nov.27th and I had my first fitting a couple of weeks ago, so I thought I would share some pics (since seeing all of your pics has helped me so much.

Next friday I need to decide if I am cutting the plain underlay of the train or if I’m keeping it. I thought I would ask you guys to help!

I feel that the full train makes it more grand, but you can really see the lace details without it, and it looks much lighter and flowy without it. What do you think?

Also sharing a photo of the veil!

julieta123 :  looks great….do you have front pic?

I’m debating doing that to my train!! :+)

I’m torn as I  love it BOTH ways and also love it being lighter and seeing the lace details with out under layer?

What do you think you’ll DO?? Uuugh lol

Love to see front too….

I ordered mine just this Tuesday in light gold (it looked PEACH under the fitting room lights, rich cream in daylight – MAGIC). As I needed 5 inches off the hem, it was better to order rather than alter. She’ll be here some time in January.

As I need to cover my shoulders and back, I’m combining her with the ivory illusion/crystal jacket which goes with the Sottero & Midgely “Taiya” gown, which will also give me the bateau neckline that I always wanted as well as keep the look age-appropriate – older bride here.

Following the “should I or shouldn’t I” train modification conversation with great interest…
