@Weebagpuss:  I tried on the gold, but decided on the ivory. I tried on other ivory dresses and thought they looked nice with my skin tone. Plus, my bridesmaids dresses and light gray so I didn’t know if the gold would look good with my color scheme. I would base your choice on what look sbest with your skin tone and what will match your colors πŸ™‚

@Lulu8197:  sorry I am chiming in kind of late here— in all of the bridal shops I tried the Emma on at, the sleeves were never attached. I would ask about that! You should definitely be able to get it strapless.

Congrats fellow Emma brides!! I have been patiently waiting for my Emma to come in-just 3 weeks left!! I purchased it in light gold. I still have to get my shoes, I havent decided on the style yet but I am leaning toward a 2-3 inch heel with a bow either on the front or the side. What shoes were you ladies thinking of wearing? Also– sash: required or optional? Thanks, ladies πŸ™‚

Yeah I had no idea about the sleeves, again when I bought the dress, even though the sample I tried on didn’t have the sleeves on, they told me they come with the dress regardless. They do look beautiful on the dress though, so I’m still debating wearing them at least for the church ceremony then taking them off for the reception.

I’m going to get blue peep toe pumps..my dress is ivory so I think they’ll go well. Also undecided about the sash.

It’s been two months since I bought it..I can’t wait till it finally comes in!! In the meantime I’d like to see wedding day pics of other brides in it. I realize it’s a newer design but I can’t wait to see it in action πŸ˜›

How are you guys doing your hair??

@Lulu8197:  I am dying to see brides on their wedding day in the emma! I hope there are some pics soon. I bought mine last month, but it doesn’t come in until February and my fittings don’t start till May! I don’t know how I am going to wait that long!! I am looking for a colored peep top pump to wear with mine…maybe plum to match my accent colors πŸ™‚ Not sure about my hair yet. I have long hair so I am either going to do half up with curls or maybe all up…I worry about it falling flat in the humidy if I go with half up, but love some pics I found.

@DentalTurnedBridal927:  Before I found Emma, I was totally set on wearing a dress with a sash (like the Karena Royale). However, once I saw her, I totally changed my mind. I’m going NO SASH. IMO, the beading detail on the bodice is just too beautiful to cover up. Plus, that dress gives you such a gorgeous elongated torso that a sash might actually break that lovely figure up. If you are tall or have a long torso, no problem (though I’m tall, and I didn’t like how the sash looked on me)…but if you are short or have a short torso, it might cut you off a bit. Sashes can make a short torso look even shorter.

For shoes, I’m doing these:

I absolutely LOVE the idea of blue shoes! My mother saw a bride with blue shoes years ago and she hoped that I would lol. Since I went with Emma in light gold, I am thinking a navy blue shoe, and I absolutely love shoes with bows on them….still deciding between a fabric bow or metal/sequined bow, but i love all of these:

(If only they could die these navy: http://www.betseyjohnson.com/Item.aspx?id=98536&np=984)

Problem is my fiancee is only about 2 inches taller than me, so I may be searching for a shorter heel.

The more I think about it, the more I am opting out of a sash and instead just putting that money toward a nice headpiece/hair pin. I absolutely love the hair pins with “crystals” that look like a vine or with flowers. I agree that the dress is so beautiful and ornate on the bodice and I also have a longer torso.

As for hair, I am opting to have it up and find a hairstyle that can last the entire night!…still searching….lol

Happy accessorising, ladies! πŸ™‚

My Emma finally came in!! i know i have more than a year to wait….wish it were tomorrow. All of you ladies look gorgeous!

What were you thinking about as far as veil color? The standard colors seem to be white and ivory, I am thinking an ivory would be ok with the light gold?

@DentalTurnedBridal927:  yay! It looks beautiful on you! I was thinking of an ivory veil- I ordered the light gold as well and tried it on with ivory and I really couldn’t tell much of a difference. What are you doing for your colors??

@sofetch:  You look so beautiful in emma, too!! Yes, I totally agree that an ivory veil will work, especially a really sheer one. I think I am going to go for a plain  2 tier veil, just because I want the dress to stand out.

My colors are victorian lilac (a darker lilac color, as if you added some grey to lilac) and grey. i am giving my bridesmaids the option of any style dress they want as long as it is the same fabric (chiffon), length (long), and color (from the same designer). This way everyone is happy.

Did you decide what your colors are going to be?

I still have to choose what flowers I am going to have. I really love the white and black center anemone flower, but it is a spring flower. The florist said she may be able to get them but they would be more expensive….I may just have to just go with it lol πŸ™‚

@DentalTurnedBridal927: The victorian lilac and the grey are going to look amazing together.  I’m doing the same dress idea with my girls. Same designer/fabric/length, but style is up to them! I really like the blush color- but lately I’ve been into dark blue navy, and with the light gold dress I was thinking it’d be pretty. I’m going back and forth on pinterest!

I just googled anemones-soooo beautiful and classic but not overdone. I’m having the same trouble with peonies, they’ve been my favorite flower since I was a little girl, but won’t be in season and are pretty pricey. I might do a base of white hydrangeas with peonies thrown in here and there πŸ™‚

@sofetch:  The best thing is that you really cannot go wrong with either blush or navy. Google “blush and navy wedding”—-you could even do both! Such a beautiful combination.

I would say to think about what you want your cake to look like-that is where I got the inspiration for my colors πŸ™‚

Peonies are so beautiful! They will look so pretty with the hydrangeas. I will definitely be mixing some flowers in with my anemones.

What were you thinking on jewelry? Do you think silver or white gold jewelry will be ok with the light gold? I even searched for rose gold, but i think that it might be too dark. I am just thinking because my ring is white gold and i think gold jewelry might clash.
