I got this dress, it is really beautiful. I was really not sure about it at first since I originally did not want a strapless dress, i wanted something with lace and form fitted but when I walked out in it and everyone gasped I knew that it was the dress with the biggest impact. I am short so I was concerned that the dress would consume me but it really doesn’t. I went to my first fitting this past weekend and learned that altering this dress is something you may want to consider. I had one of the layers of muslin taken out so that it laid flatter, I had the hem taken up (I am only 5 feet tall so that was a must) and the bodice had to be taken in (I have lost about 17 lbs since I ordered the dress and even though I ordered it a size small it still needed to be taken in.) Since there is so much beading they charge more to make adjustments to the bodice since they have to un-bead and re-bead it, it also has 5 layers of tulle so they charge more for that as well. The first consolation I went to they quoted me 730 dollars to alter it – as you can imagine I ran out of there screaming! I found another woman who is charging me under 200 to do it and I feel lucky I found her. She decided that she would also remove the stays that come up from the waste to the middle of the boob, they give the dress a pointy Madonna look so having them taken out will make the dress form to the body more. The photos attached are from the fitting so the dress is several sizes big but I will post new photos when I go in for my next fitting in June or maybe from my wedding in July. The materials are beautiful and the French tulle makes the dress feel really expensive also the beading looks beautiful and delicate, in the right light this dress sparkles! The tulle does catch so you have to be careful but it’s not that big of a deal. I went with the gold because I felt it gave it a little bit on an antique vintage vibe.

Hi ladies, my goodness me I have been following this thread for the last 8months while I wait for my dress to be made, looking at your dresses everytime I feel like I may have forgotten what mine looks like (thanks for saving me from insanity) … It is finally in! So I can now contribute and say HELLO! Here is my first fitting in my Esme gold ivory dress, only alterations required are some bust starts as it is a little boobie! Sorry about the train not being tidy but it is beautiful when it is neat.

I couldn’t love my dress more!

Lots of love

Oh it exists and it’s amazing! The quality is beyond perfect. There’s a similar dress by Justin Alexander – 8670, although I haven’t seen this in the flesh as such xx

They are close but the beading is very different, the maggie is crystals whereas the just seems more bead work. Saying that the waist on the maggie is higher and is harder to wear, if you’re hourglass go for maggie, if you have a more slender straight waist go for Justin xx<br />

We got married on the 17th of May and it was an amazing day! We are still waiting for the professional photos but I can post these in the mean time. I decided to chop the trein off as I didn’t like the tulle look dragging behind the dress and because my husband was very likely to keep standing on it as we did a lot of dancing. I was very glad I did this as it made the dress very easy to walk in.

I have a fitting Sunday after having bustles put in so I will upload pictures for you, but for now I’ve seen this online and it looks as though this lady has had it done but you can’t see the length but I love the puffiness at the back 🙂 can’t wait to see my dress again x
