Yep, I’m wearing the gatsby, and I’ve just always wanted to wear fun colored heels under my dress. I would never wear white heels again, and I’d love to get some hot shoes I can wear again and be reminded of my wedding. I will have the ivory/pewter dress and I just want to find some cool vintage heels to go with it.

hello carolinek11!

If that question was intended for me, I apologize for not getting back with you sooner!

I contacted my bridal shop and the brand name of the shoe is called “Touch Ups”..I have found a website that sells them and here is the link:

http://www.bridalshoesboutique.com/bridal-shoes-showroom.asp?id=10187&catgroup=&cat_id=375

http://www.bridalshoes.com/white-wedding-shoes/touch-ups/sharmain-841-3654

theres two different links for you, these shore ARE dyeable.

Also the heel size is 2 5/8”in.

I walked around in them for a couple of hours and they still felt great! Its mostly why I decided to go with them, they went great with the dress and were so comfortable!!

I sure hope this helps!

Hi ladies,

I’ve just chosen my Gatsby in Ivory with Pewter accents but I was wondering what style you are going for with your bridesmaid dresses?

I have no idea about the style or colour to go for and I need help!!!! We don’t have a colour scheme as our theme is more vintage tea party than anything.

Ooh, and i’m having a cathedral length veil….I’ve always hated veils  but then the lady in the shop put one on me and it just worked!

The Gatsby is 100% my dream dress – I knew I wanted that one before we were even engaged! I now need the perfect bridesmaid dresses to go with it!

I am bumping this Gatsby thread again!

I am officially a Gatsby bride! And I have some questions for the other Gatsby girls –

Right now I am in between the size 12 and the size 14. I ordered the 14 because going smaller (though I plan to drop some more weight) gave me a bit of anxiety. I am just a little nervous about the alterations with all that lace? How did your alterations go?

I think I am going to go with gold kate spade ballet flats.

and I ordered the Vari veil from Unveiled Bridal Designs. I’ll wear the chapel part for the ceremony, take the chapel off for the cocktail hour, and then take the bird cage off for the reception.

I know lots of people aren’t fans of the mixing of the veil styles, but I LOVED how it looked with the Gatsby – and it comes in a Champagne shimmer option which looked PERFECT.

LOVE!! yay!

I chose the ivory with pewter accents…it was perfect for my outdoor Florida wedding.  We got married on the beach in November.  Personally, I wanted a small veil which I removed for the reception.  I also didn’t wear the belt and had the seamstress add small straps.  I had sooo many compliments of my dress.  The dress just sparkled all over with the sunlight.  The Gatsby is by far the most unique dress that I tried on.  It is timeless in style; vintage in feel, but to me, not too vintage.  I don’t think anyone who wears this dress will be sorry you chose it.  I’m attaching one of our pictures from the wedding.  Good luck to all and enjoy your special day.  I felt like a princess in this dress!

Are there any 2012 Gatsby brides?  I just ordered my dress today in ivory/pewter, i loved the champagne/light gold but my fiance plans to wear a tan/light coloured suit as we are getting married in Greece – i was worried the colours would clash.  Unsure what veil to wear but even more confused about shoes.

Has anyone gone with flat shoes for this dress?

@ajk:  I wore cowboy boots with mine! They only had a slight heel and were super comfy and perfect for our barn dance reception!

The great thing about this dress is it is so classicly beautiful that you can wear it just about any way you want! I have seen people glam it up old hollywood style, keep it super traditional, modernize it, or like me take it country! All these ways and it still looks gorgeous. I am excited to see the Gatsby do Greece 🙂

I wore the champagne (which at first I was worried about) but outside during the day and at night in the barn it fit perfectly. I was wishy washy on a veil at first, but went with one for pictures and ceremony and am really glad I did. (Just a simple elbow length) then for the reception I wore a hair flower.

Hello Gatsby brides !

I went to a bridal store last friday to try on my first wedding gowns. The Gatsby was hunging in the tracks absolutely stunning but I wasn’t sure about the fitting. The minute I put it on I was blown away and It was just the third dress ! It is so beautiful !!

I tried on the champagne/gold dress which is absolutely gorgeous but I was still wondering about the colour… would it be better to buy the ivory with pewter accents ? They only had the champagne in the store so I couldn’t get to see the ivory/pewter…

Do you think the details of the dress can really show off in the ivory/pewter as well as in the champagne dress ?

Do you Gatsby brides have some close-up pictures of the details ??

I’d really apreciate your help ! I need go back to the bridal store as soon as possible to order my dress

Ah ! Also for the brides wondering about the shoes…

I would go for a Mary Jane style to match the Gatsby era. Ligth silver for the ivory and white dress, and light gold for the champagne gown. What do you think ?

My Gatsby has arrived! I’m going in to try it on tomorrow and I am so excited. I tried the champagne over light gold sample dress (which was gorgeous) but decided to go with ivory and pewter accents. I also ordered a cascade/waterfall veil which had piping to the end that matched the tie at the waist, and it has tiny pewter-style detailing throughout the netting to match the pewter on the dress.

The only thing I am considering doing to the Gatsby (hopefully) is potentially adding a bustle. However, my Maid/Matron of Honor has suggested slipping the loop at the very base of the dress over my wrist instead?

What did you guys do with regards to the bustle dilemma?

I tried on my dress! It’s gorgeous! The only alterations that I need are to have the belt shortened and a simple bustle added for each layer. I am so excited!

@floralgypsy:  You look so gorgeous in your Gatsby ! and You are so lucky you don’t need many alterations!

Are you ok with the narrow shape of the dress ? Have you think about a petticoat ? And would this be possible to add ?

Also, do you have close-up pics of the pewter details ?

As I said sooner in this board I only tried on the champagne/gold one and I am really looking forward to see the pewter details on the ivory dress 🙂
