I am not getting married until October of 2012. Yes, I know, so far away.. Well my mom, and a friend decided one day to just go look around start shopping for a wedding dress, just to get the process started since you know its like almost the MOST important part of getting married…well we went to a bridal shop in lafeyette and we pulled a couple of dresses…well I told the lady who was helping me that my fiance and I wanted a “vintage” almost “old hollywood” themed wedding, well needless to say she pulled the GATSBY for me and when I put it on I knew instantly that this was my dress. I tried it on in the Champagne / Pewter with the light gold., and needless to say thats the one I ordered because the detail of the dress was just amazing! I am still waiting and I ordered it a couple of months ago. Well anyways I have attached a picture of myself in it but cut out my face JUST in case my fiance would stumble upon this website…
**I tried on the headpiece in the picture and liked it because it had that vintage feel but I am now thinking twice about it. I have also attached a picture of a birdcage veil I am thinking about ordering to go along with my perfect dress..
If ya’ll have any comments or suggestions please feel free to let me know, thanks so much!!!

I LOVE this dress, it is one of my favorites! And you look fabulous in it!
I would hold off on the headpiece since you aren’t getting married for a while. It shouldn’t be that hard to shop for. Trends change, and what you like may change by then too.

You gotta go with what you love! I ordered my daughter a very similar birdcage veil for between $40-50 from a woman on ebay, (found out later she is also on etsy.) My daughter Loved, loved loved it!!! If you PM me I will write back when I locate her info. Congratulations on the gatsby. I love Maggie’s.

GORGEOUS!!! I love Maggie!! i agree that maybe you should hold off on the headpiece.. i got engaged in December 2008, and am getting married in October 2010… I found my dress, which I still LOVE.. but have literally purchased 3 different veils because I cannot decide what I want to wear, and my tastes have changed so many times since I started planning, because new things come out and then it makes it even harder 🙂

TO ALL: well i think i got caught up in the moment because my mom loved the headpiece so I ordered it. BUT i know that I was unsure about it when I ordered it so I know I should have waited on that. BUT i totally love the birdcage veil, and that was the first thing I wanted when we decided on the theme of our wedding
I absolutely love my dress and I know that won’t change especially since it goes so well with the theme to our wedding.
CECULLATON: Question: how did you get through waiting that long to get married?? Because my fiance and I decided 2yrs would be good enough to wait because I am very picky and I have to have things right and perfect no matter what! But patience is not one of my strong suits…lol…how on earth did you get through it?…lol
THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR THEIR INPUT! IT WAS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

@vintagequeen19: I’m also a Gatsby girl, and was wondering what kind of jewelry you were doing with the gown? I am having a hard time deciding on a style and where to buy. (the dress looks great on you btw!)

Hi Y’all, I’m also looking at getting the Gatsby. This is a rude question to ask, but I just have to. What sizes are y’all who are wearing this dress. I love it and think it’s stunning on all of y’all, but would be reassured to know if any of you were ‘normal’ sizes or at least not Model sizes. I won’t be getting married for another year and a half at the earliest, but so far, the GATSBY is THE dress and while I have time to get like a stick, I really don’t know if the 20s frame is what I’ll have for this stunning 20’s dress.
