Hello Everyone!
I ordered my dress, the Gatsby (Maggie Sottero) back in September for my May wedding. The wedding is going to be in my church, so I chose white for tradition’s sake. However, the only two samples I saw were the champane and the ivory w/ pewter accents. I imagine the ivory is similar to white (without the pewter accents), but I would love to see some actual Gatsby dress photos in the white color!
For those of you who have, or are wearing the Gatsby, what kind of jewlery are you doing, and where did you get it?

I am getting it in ivory with pewter accents but have collected loads of images of the dress in all the colours so if you PM me with your email I can email you the pics to see (they are all together in word docs hense not posting them on here!).
I did order quite traditional white gold and pearl jewellery (a pendant and pendant earrings) but I have now changed my mind! I bought a pearl vintage style headpiece and so now want jewellery to match – there are some lovely ones on Etsy and I think i’m going to go for a more delicate necklace with matching earrings.
I love the Gatsby -isn’t it gorgeous!!!!!!! Which country are you from? Just wondering as not many people over here stock it so I have to order it in specially to see!

@doobedoo: I haven’t been apart of weddingbee.com long, so could you tell me what PM means?
I’m from the U.S. so luckily, most salons I went to had it on hand! But, they were all either in ivory or champagne.

I am also a Gatsby bride! I would love to see pics of real brides in this dress so I can get inspiration for hair, makeup and accessories! Also, I tried on ivory but ended up ordering the champagne as the consultant said it would go better with my skin tone and ‘vintage’ feel i was going for. I am worried since they actually did not have that color in the store for me to see before I ordered…
I would love pics too!

Oh it is gorgeous on you! OK I am excited about my dress all over again π (Just still worried about the color)
Are you keeping that sash on? I am torn. The dress I tried on the sash was kind of messed up and it looked funny. I contemplated removing it. But your sash looks great.

Yeah keeping the sash but will prob add a little brooch where it ties on.
The champagne colour is sooooo lovely and I would have gone for that but it didn’t suit my colouring at all as i’m so fair.
If you want me to email you all of the pics i’ve collected of the dress then just meaage me with your email address!

Hi Ladies,
I am a soon to be a Gatsby bride, still trying to decide what colour to go for as the shop only had the champagne (which is gorgeous).
Any suggestions for what colour suit the groom could wear with this or do you not think it matters?
Also stuck on hair styles as I am flying out to get married in Italy and need something easy which i can do but as I have a fringe i cant find many suitable styles.
lastly – is anyone having a veil with it?
Thanks everyone xx

doobedoo – your dress looks great! It must be a relief to finally see it in person, and you are obviously happy with the choice of colour. Yay!! π
Do the pewter accents stand out as much (or as little) as you expected? I also ordered the IwP version and am on tenderhooks waiting to see it with my own eyes! Still 10-11 weeks till it arrives, I think….argh.
I am looking for low to medium heeled shoes and it is so hard to find suitable ones! Most bridal shoes are quite high heels, and since my fiance and I are already similar heights, I don’t want huge heels, but I don’t want flats either. It’s frustrating!
Jewellery – I am leaning towards no necklace, dangly earrings, and *maybe* a bracelet. Not sure if I will go the pearl+sparkles route, or just sparkles. Haven’t seen anything that’s been a real contender, yet.
Hairpiece/veil – likely to have either a silk flower, or an antiquey-style beaded/lace clip-in hairpiece (but not too large). Headbands don’t really suit me, I don’t think. Again, not yet found any contenders. I also love the birdcage veils, though, so that is still an option but I fear that on me it will be too “busy”.
Suits – my fiance and his groomsmen are wearing black suits with an ivory shirt. I don’t really think the suit colour matters (except I’m not sure if grey would suit the champagne dress, for example) but I was a bit concerned that stark white shirts might look a bit funny with my ivory dress. Thankfuly the suit hire place has the ivory shirt option. We haven’t picked bridesmaids dresses yet (yikes – another Must Do Soon item!) but the ties will either be the same colour , or a pewtery colour.
Loving the pics of the Gatsby. π
PS – I am really hoping people subscribed to this topic don’t get an email each time I edit as I seem to have a case of the typos today and have edited about a dozen times! Apologies if that is the case. π
