I’ve just ordered my dream dress, the Maggie Sottero Gatsby in Ivory with Pewter accents and I really need help deciding on bridesmaid dresses to go with it! I am totally in love with my dress – it’s perfect- but I now need to find bridesmaid dresses that I am in love with too!
We don’t have a colour scheme but are leaning towards a quirky vintage tea party feel.
Any ideas/suggestions for the bridesmaid dresses? What styles and colours will work?
I have 3 bridesmaids in their late teens and 3 in their late 20’s.

i googled ur dress so i could see what it looks like and the first thing i thought for bridesmaid dresses was knee-length with them holding parasols or fans with birdcage viels or something like that….or you could go with same color scheme but different style dresses which i think would work wit ur theme as well….also found a few that used prints instead of solid color dresses which i thought doesn’t look too bad…
here are some of my google results…
love this one…

ooooh, I love the lace dresses….they would go really well with mine! And I love the parasol idea too -getting married in the UK in April so it would be a good idea to have them anyway as April is know for its rain!
I did consider doing different dresses within the same scheme, especially since my bridesmaid are different ages…or at keast having the 3 teens in one style and the 3 in their 20’s in another style. It’s difficult when they are all different skin toned with different body shapes!
Where did you find the first dress and the third dress? Are they from a particular website?
Thanks for your help!!!! x

@doobedoo: no problem…the thing i like about same color different dresses is exactly ur reasoning! different skin tone, body shape, styles to match their style! this is what i want to do with my girls….the other thing too is you can always go shopping with them to make sure you like it as well that way they aren’t just having free reign on picking the dress…’less of course your picking it out anyways in which case, nevermind…lol 🙂
the first is Alfred Angelo 7012
(i’m not sure if this is a knock-off site or if this dress has a name-brand equivalent)
btw, i love lace!! it screams vintage 🙂

another idea for your junior bridesmaids or even all of them….lace spring dresses are easy to find in department stores…i kno i’m always seeing some type of beige w/black lace overlay style dresses over this way in US….i’m all about saving an extra dime, and getting a dress from a department store might turn out cheaper than buying from a designer…it’d esp go with the theme of having them in diff style dresses which i think goes really well for a vintage tea party feel… just a thought… 🙂

We got married in November outside in Florida. I chose the Gatsby also and was thrilled with how everything turned out. My bridesmaids who ranged from 40, 28 and 13 wore Belsoie L3001 in scarlet. The dresses complimented the vintage feel but also had a modern flair. The dresses were long and one shoulder. I loved the vintage feel of the Gatsby, but personally, I didn’t want it to look too vintage….if that makes any sense. The bridemaid dresses were perfect. Check out the design and see what you think. Best of luck to you on your wedding day!

oooh, do you have any photos you can post of your wedding? (or if you don’t want to post them, do you have any you could email me? I want to see real women in my beloved dress!)
Those bridesmaid dresses are stunning! I’ve actually chosen very similar dresses – but mine are tea length! Great minds think alike!
