- Wedding: September 2013
So I’ve run into a bit of a problem. My wedding is roughly 18 months away. My mother and I recently went to check out some wedding gowns just to get a feel of price ranges and the overall style I liked. I have literally scoured magazines and not found a dress that even strikes a chord with me so I went into this thinking I’d come out a little more confident in what I want. Well instead I fell head over heels in love with this dress by Maggie Sottero called Geneva. I never expected to love a strapless, ivory/mocha dress with a train but it’s as perfect for me as my soon to be husband. I wrote the price and all the information down and have been keeping it in my wedding binder since that time because I didn’t want to buy the dress that early. Well I just recently found out the bridal salon is having a huge end of the year blow out sale and that particular dress which was selling for almost $1300 is not going to be roughly $600. I feel like that’s a deal I can’t pass up.
I’m really worried about buying a dress so early though. I know I need to get it at least 9-10 months in advance(my consultant told me Maggie’s take a long time to come in) but 18 months in advance is a great deal of time. I’m not really worried about weight but I am comfortable with the way my body is and don’t plan on lossing or gaining weight. The sample size they had was the perfect size just add a bustle and a minor amount of altering.
I’m just so torn on whether I should go ahead and get it now or wait another 6-8 months before buying it.
