@Melissa.erin: The dress looks amazing on you!  The bottom of the bodice looks different did you change it?  Did the alteration of it cost you an arm and a leg?  I love it!

Aw thank you!!! I actually was just holding it up. I think a straight across bodice would be more flattering for me, but I’ve been working out and have lost 10 lbs since I tried on the dress. Depending on how it fits when mine comes in, I might leave it. The place where I got my dress won’t charge over $150 for alterations and the seamstress they’ve had for 25 years said she could change it if I’d like. What veil & jewelry are you wearing??

Hi Bees! I also bought the Isadora in Ivory/Pewter and am SO IN LOVE WITH THIS DRESS!!!! I want to do jumpin jacks Im so excited!

Are any of you wearing a crinoline slip under it? Im searching for 1). a type of crinoline slip/skirt that wouldn’t make it too full – what skirt did you get? and 2). what do you guys think of dying the crinoline either lavender or indigo to match my shoes?

I don’t know if the sudden bit of color as I dance would be too much going on :/ but i LOVE the idea of bright pink or indigo or maybe something less noticable like lavender. I mostly want it for this set of photos I want taken with me and FH sitting on the low end of a huge oak branch where you’ll see the under part of my dress. I guess I could buy two skirts (ack!) but I didn’t really want to… πŸ™ I want to be colorful & fun all night!

Honest opinions if you have any πŸ™‚

(I will be wearing a very sheer plain ivory veil elbow length and little to no accessories – maybe a very simple necklace)

ps Ill post a pic when I can figure out how! lol

@Indianna: This dress looks AHHmazing on you. I also bough the Isadora, I love it! Ugh I didnt take any pictures but I will once I go in for fittings. I also want to have a dyied crinoline (teal) but I bought teal shoes already and I am afraid it will be too much. I did manage to buy a used crinoline at a bridal consignment store so I might just dye it and see how it looks with the shoes.

Question for Isadora lovers…umm the one thing I (secretly) dont like about the dress is the boob part, the boning makes my boobs look flat! I am hoping that it will be fixed in alterations.

Am I the only one who sees that? Ugh or maybe I just need bigger boobs, haha.

@nbelle: Thank you!! and YAY! for dyed tulle πŸ˜€ and to maybe answer your question: I LOVE Maggie Sottero dresses (I’ve tried on her dresses when all my friends got married years before (they were all 20 somethins. Im a late bloomer lmao) but I LOVED Maggie’s b/c I always thought they “held” the girls in and up but it a pretty way- not jenny mccarthy “HITHERE” way.  BUT – I will confess, I tried on almost ALL maggies, and this new collection and SOME of her past collection do NOT do this “up and up” thing that the past dresses did. They squish you down WITHOUT a strapless bra on. The first time I went shopping (bless my dumb self) I wore a regular bra and a thong. YEA NOT bright. I was NOT impressed with zeee clevage lol. SO the 2nd time I went, I brought the only strapless bra that has not been claimed by my adorable and veriocious lab pup, which is black. Lovely color to stick out. BUT IT MADE ALLLLLL the difference in the WORLD to my girls. I was ahah! I have my boobs back.

So, did you wear a NICE supporting bra with the dresses trying them on? Cause I don’t know what size samples you tired on, but the ones I did try on were ALL 2 sizes + to big, and I couldn’t get the “what it will look like” with the fitting clips etc. Theres MORE fabric in the chest area than nessecary -SO – I think ONCE you get your size (and DEFINATELY have cups sewn in if you are a C and below. I am! it will keep your tatas where they belong, esp with dancing πŸ˜€ )

hope that helps!

ps, I’ve decided to dye my crinolin slip a shade of lavender- so I think you should TOTALLY do yours to match a shade lighter than your shoes (PLUS – I read that a “blushing” shade of ANY color is SO SO in this bridal season muuuaahahahah πŸ™‚  and TOO Its my wedding and Ill have fun if I want to. Even if I look like a circus member lmao. (So its YOUR and (your FIs) Wedding. Do what YOU want to) My wedding’s very rustic/ fairytale-ish. Its basically in the woods on a rural piece of property under a tent and oak & pines. So, no vogue magazine editor will be caught dead out there and judging my fashion faux-pa haha!

@SparkleShine: Thank you, and i KNOW! I can’t wait to get my dress. I won’t have it until September. I don’t think I can wait πŸ™ YOU MUST post pics when you get yours!! and I wouldn’t worry about the diamond white color. The dress is gorgeous in any color, and I tried on the diamond white in a different dress which is more or less a shade between ivory and WHITE white (which I tried on in a different maggie too. I couldnt decide my color lol the white is VERY day-glo). The diamond white is very pretty, plus you’ll still have the pewter coloring in your accents. I wouldn’t worry at all. πŸ™‚

ps thanks for starting this thread!

Is anyone doing the shoulder strap? I need to decrease the sweetheart some to show off my decollete cuz I’m really petite and I feel like the proportions are off. I really want to have a shoulder strap but I want one that kind of hangs down the arm more. I thought about using some of my extra fabric and appliques to do one.
