Hey girls- just purchased my Jenna dress yesterday…wanted to ask a few questions!

How far in advance did you purchase your gown? My wedding is May 5, 2012, and i just wanted to make sure my time frame isn’t insane.  =)

Also, how did the dress fit in your size in comparison to the sample size?  The sample size on me was a 10, so it wasn’t very flattering on my upper body until she pulled the top really tight. I ended up ordering a 6, but I wanted to check and see if the dress is more figure-flattering once it’s in the right size.  I essentially looked bigger than I am when I tried on the 10.

Thanks!

I actually like this dress on people rather than the model. I may have to try it one when I go!

the bridal salon I ordered from just last week promised me it would be in by Friday (so 7 days). She called up Maggie Sottero & they happened to have a size 6 in Destination Wedding just like I wanted! You should try that!!

Oh my God! I LOVE Jenna!  Here I am with her.  I’m wearing a four bone hoop to make the dress stand out.

You all look stunning in your Jennas.  I get to do my first fitting on Thursday…can’t wait!!! I actually have a question…for the Jenna Brides who have already gotten married how did you keep your jenna so wrinkle free the day of the wedding?? Any suggestions for those of us who are anticipating them ๐Ÿ™‚

YEAH! It’s official! I’m a Jenna Bride!

On my journey to say, “Yes” to the dress I must have tried on over 150 dresses, but once I tried on the Jenna I knew!! (kinda like finding the Mister).  I love the way it fits and that although it is fitted, unlike some other dresses, it is comfortable, and easy to walk in.

If anyone is wondering, how Jenna dresses fit, this is what I learned: My measurements (bust and hips) steered me to a 2 – my waist is a lil bit bigger than the 2 (not by much), so I confidently put down a deposit for a size 2.  However, after reading other Jenna and general Maggie posts (some brides suggested ordering one size larger than their street size; I’m a street size 0/2), I started having second thoughts and called my bridal salon first thing in the morning.  Luckily I was able to go back to the bridal shop and try on an actual Maggies, size 2 and 4.

After trying on both Maggie dresses (size 2 and 4) I decided on the 4, despite the fact that my measurements would have directed me otherwise: the 2 was actually snug on my hips and the bust area didn’t quite fit right. If possible ladies, I would ask to try on a Maggie in the size you want (even if it is a different style), and if that is not possible, even if your dress has a corset back, I would agree with some of the other Maggie/ Jenna brides, and definitely suggest ordering a size up and taking the dress in if needed.  I think it will look much better to have a more narrow corset than the alternative, of a very wide set corset back.

FYI I learned that Maggie dresses has approx. 1 1/2 inches on the seam in case a bride needs to let the dress out.

@georgiaann: Your dress looks AMAZING on you!!! I am also a Jenna bride and I can’t wait to get her in! I am wondering though, what type of jewelry and veil will you be wearing? I’m more of a simple person so I opted for a white pearls and diamons earrings with no necklace (I didn’t want to take away from the beautiful dress). I am wearing a birdcage veil with it becasue I didn’t like a longer veil covering the back part of the dress which I think is just beautiful. Please give me some insight on how you’ve decided to wear yours. I also wasn’t going to use a hoop because I felt it made the dress look too big, but your picture here with it is gorgeous so I will now be using one ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you for posting your beautiful picture!
