Kyra was a dress I had been looking at (never tried on a sample though) but I ultimately chose Alana because of the sweetheart neckline and that it was a fit and flare instead of sheath fit like Kyra. It’s a gorgeous dress and was in my top 5 to try on if Alana didn’t pass the test.

Did you buy or try on Kyra? Pictures please if you did I would love to see  this dress on a real bride.

I just had to go look at a photo-because it is my 1st granddaughter’s name, lol.

The dress is beautiful too 😉

I purchased the Maggie Sottero Kyra gown. However I tried it on in a salon that doesn’t allow photography unless you purchase and I ended up buying from another salon that didnt have a sample. I would love to see some photos of real brides in their Kyra as well and as soon as mine comes in I will post a photo (the ship date is mid February). I also loved the Alana but ultimately chose the Kyra dress because it feels fantastic on and the belt is fabulous. It is such a light dress with a small train which will be perfect for my June outdoor wedding…..crossing fingers for sun and warm weather 🙂 The photo of the dress on the model does make it look low in the back but it seemed to fit higher on me…..maybe because I am short?? I will be altering the neckline to give it more of a sweetheart. You can order the gown in the standard or a petite version.

@Bobbie2:  The Kyra belt is one I’m looking at to purchase separate for my Alana dress. I liked the Alana belt in the model picture but on myself I felt it was a little lacking. So I’m very interested to see this belt and dress on a real bride. I’m basically just looking at all my options for belts including the one that came with my dress before making a decision.

I bought Maggie Sottero’s Kyra a few weeks ago for my outdoor wedding.  I’m about 5’5, and I ordered a petite.  In the picture, I’m standing on a stool that is 8-9 inches tall.

I hope this picture is helpful for brides who want a better idea of how the dress looks on a normal person.  I have yet to see another non-model picture of the dress.

and here’s a picture of the back.

@NurseMandie: The belt is fabulous on Kyra, it’s a big part of what sold me on the dress. However the belt on Alana is pretty fabulous as well so I dont think you could go wrong with either. The details on Alana’s belt are larger with bigger flowers while the Kyra has more subtle flowers with lots of beading and crystals

@mrsgr: Thanks so much for sharing your photos of your Kyra….it looks stunning on you! Have you chosen your veil and shoes yet?

@Bobbie2:

Thanks!

I haven’t picked out shoes yet.  I want to wait until the dress arrives so I know exactly how long the dress will be.

I’m not sure whether I will wear a veil yet, although I am learning towards a simple one that is elbow length.

@Bobbie2:  Kyra is a pretty belt.  I’m just really confused because I don’t think I even know what kind of belt I’m looking for.  I see some brides with really elaborate belts and I like that look.  Then I see one with just a ribbon and I like that too.  Then I see ones with just a little bit of bling and I like that as well.  AHHHHH it makes my head spin lol.

I bought the Kyra. Posted about it in this thread

http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/show-me-the-dresses-that-did-not-make-the-cut-and-then-the-one

I am undecided about the sash that comes with it, it’s not really my style. If I don’t use it, and I can’t get a deal on a replacement by giving it to the salon to sell, then I will likely sell it.

Love the dress. Classic, elegant and romantic. Like most dresses, the pictures don’t do it justice.

I just bought my Kyra dress a couple of weeks ago. Uploading a few pictures for the brides to see on a “real person” as @Mrsgr said. I know I’ve been wanting to see it on other brides! I have a couple with the Kyra belt but am going with a different one that is a little more vintage style and has detailing across the full waist. I’m also going to have it altered to be more sweetheart and lower the back a bit.

I’m 5’4, a streetsize 4-6. I ordered a size 6 petite. The dress here is a 12 regular and about 7 inches too long. I can’t wait to see what it looks like when it comes in! I’m also going to hold off on getting shoes until it comes in and will probably go with a plain, elbow length veil.
