We JUST tried on both this week…  I was told in the store that its basically the same dress…  take off the sash and add the sweetheart neckline and karena becomes lorie pretty much.  I’m looking at the Lorie, with light gold under ivory, and adding my own sash I found on etsy to add bling.  I REALLY would love to see someone post a pic online that shows the Lorie in light gold/ivory…

@NewSouthYank: & @kristakn: they’re both lovely dresses. I’ve always liked the Karena Royale, I’m hoping someone post pics of the Lorie for comparison

We were told that if you like the Karena Royale but prefer a sweetheart neckline, to look at the Lorie (no straps). Below is a picture of what it would look like:  this is actually the Karena with the top switched out, but why go to the extra expense when all you have to do is switch the sash.  The Karena may be a BIT slimmer contoured.  We may do it…  Lorie with light gold/ivory with a champagne sash with lots of bling on it.

@NewSouthYank:  I haven’t tried the Lorie, but I think I’m ordering it today.  The KR was my dress, but I want the slightly more full skirt and the neckline.

I will say, out of the over 50 dresses I tried on, the KR was one of the heaviest.  I really hope the Lorie is lighter.

I tried them both, the Lorie seemed heavier to me. The neckline is the big difference however with Lorie you get the cap shoulder pieces (removable) and a belt. They are both beautiful. The Karena was more flowy and soft.

Can anyone tell me if they know of anyone who has actually altered the Lorie into a less-sweetheart neckline?  I was told it was possible…  I never wanted a sweetheart neckline but more of the Karina neckline.  However, already ordered the Lorie.  can anyone put my mind at ease?

ashkern:  Were you able to alter the neckline?  I’m hoping to do the same thing.

@jmLL the sweetheart neckline really grew on me.  I came around and decided it was part of what made the dress… Here are a few photos that our guests took 🙂https://www.weddingpartyapp.com/e/qYuvLL1
