I need the Bee’s help! I bought a dress…. but am having 2nd thoughts now. The Maggie Sottero Miri was the one that I had loved through the entire dress shopping process (I tried on nearly 80 dresses if not more). Then on my last all day, 2 store expedition I found another one that my entourage and I loved, the Jayne Lewis Dress. I love it toooooo BUT, now looking back at the pictures of the Miri I am confused. They are both so similar. Let me know which is better.
I attached 2 pictures of the Miri (the dress was a few sizes too big as well in the picture, I’ve tried on the perfect size in the Miri though)… keep that in mind. The Jayne Lewis fit like a glove.
Please let me know your thoughts or thoughts on if they could be altered. Basically I am in love with the top on the Jayne Lewis and the fullness of the shirt on the Miri…. I think. Oh so indecisive.
Thanks a ton Bee’s!

I prefer the Miri. Have you thought about getting a bling belt to place under your bust?

I like the miri better. I think it just looks like higher quality fabric. Plus if you wanted to, you could always add a sparkly belt to the miri to get the same effect as the Jayne Lewis. If it ends up being too much you could take away the sparkly tidbit on the hip. The miri seems to have better flow to it as well. There is a nice transition from bust to waist to skirt where as the Jayne Lewis feels more segmented to me (and hence looks cheaper and less fine-tuned). Keep in mind that practically everyone has some form of dress regret. It natural but the miri is probably still the one for you. Good luck!

I hate to do this, because I always feel bad seeing the posts about dress regret, but I like the Jayne Lewis better. Even though they are very similar dresses, I think the Jayne Lewis dress is more flattering on you. And I like the style of ruffles more, and the transition from bodice totruffles seems more gradual. Just my opinion.

The Jayne Lewis looks great on you and fits your shape, but once the Miri is fitted for you I think it will be just as flattering. I also like the bottom of the Miri better and think adding the belt would really make it pop. I believe you keep looking at you and the Jayne Lewis because it is fitted so nice and is more flattering just from those pictures but once the Miri is fitted you will not regret it. I know it is hard, I think almost everyone has some form of dress regret but I think you made the right choice 🙂

They both look great on you. I do prefer the Jayne Lewis, but honestly, you’ll be stunning in either gown.

Jayne Lewis, you look really great in it.

I like the Miri better. i think the extra fabric in the skirt makes it look more expensive. But that’s just judging by pics, could be totally different in person. Good luck!

That’s tough, they both look great on you! I think I prefer Miri

Thanks ladies! I am still so not sure. I think I may have to go and try it on again and put it with a belt and see what I think. How does it look with my fake add in belt?
Sooo Soooo Sooooo Soooooooooo confused!!!

And alll of my ‘entourage’ liked the Jayne Lewis… soo sooo soooo confused!

I like the Miri on you. When it’s fitted to your bodice, it should look great. Just add a sash. The Jayne Lewis LOOKS better because it fits better.
The Jayne Lewis was also one of my contenders. I didn’t pick it because in photos it looked too shiny and felt “cheap” to me.
I DID end up buying a Jayne Lewis gown in the end though!!

@mrsbruff2b: I too find the Jayne Lewis a little cheap as well. It does fit perfectly and I think that’s part of the reason. I know the Miri was a size 10 that I tried on and I need a size 4.
Thanks for posting your pictures thought!
I think I am going to go try it on again tonight or tomorrow and add a sash. This is sooo driving me nuts! lol
