Thank you so much Adelina! I appreciate you letting me know the Alandra is a heavy dress. I don’t think I am going to even bother trying it on now. I honestly do like the bottom of the Alandra a lot better, but comfort is extremely important to me and both dresses are beautiful. I didn’t get “the feeling” when I tried on my dress but I didn’t with my grad dress either so maybe not everyone has the same experience. If you are debating on these two dresses I think you should decide how important comfort is to you. My wedding is outside in July so I think Miri would be a better choice for me because chances are it will be extremely hot. If you like the Alandra better maybe you could consider purchasing a second dress that is short for the reception? The only advice I can give is to make sure whichever dress you chose is soley your decision and nobody else’s. Goodluck to you, I’m sure you will look amazing in either dress! Let me know which one you decide ๐Ÿ™‚

I agree… I bought the Alandra in ivory and it is not heavy at all! Especially compared to some of the others I tried on. I think it will be very easy to dance in. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Either way, you’ll be beautiful!!!

I’ve also ordered the Alandra for my June wedding! I wasn’t able to try it on bc they didn’t have it in my size in the store, but I knew it was the dress for me for months before even going in. Thanks for posting these real life pics, so much better than seeing it on a “model”. U look gorg and i can’t wait for mine to arrive.

    Hi FutureMrsOrdonez,

First, I want to thank you for the “acutual” picture you’ve posted. I called around for the Maggie Sottero Dynasty dress but no bridal salon within 50 miles from me carries it. The store owners told me that Alandra is very similar to the dynasty but from the picture it doesn’t look that similiar to me. After looking at your pictures… it does look like the dynasty. I’m going in to try on the dress tmr. Wish me luck ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m deciding between the Maggie Alandra and Dynasty too. The shops near me won’t get the Dynasty until early April, so I’m waiting to see!

Same Dilemma with the Dynasty here!! I tried on the Miri and Alandra and both are beautiful, and I agree that the Alandra is much prettier in person.  The boutique where I tried on dresses in SC gave me a price of 1,400 on the Alandra, but I didn’t price the Miri.  Even though I didn’t try on the Dynasty, my gut instinct told me that it was the one…  I loved the Alandra but wanted a deeper sweetheart neckline and a little more flow in the skirt…  so I did put down the deposit and I ordered it in January 2012! I am still waiting on the dress to come in so I haven’t tried it and don’t have any Actual pictures yet either ๐Ÿ™ I continue to check daily for actual pics of the Dynasty!  Looks like I’ll be the first to post them!

It really comes down to the type of fabric you want on the skirt.  Theyre both beautiful.. Are you the kind of girl who wants the sheen of the miri, or the organza structured look of alandra? I got dynasty.. I ordered it without seeing it in person, as i ran into the same issue where noone had it, since its brand new… I trusted that I knew exactly how it would look on me plus im very familiar with the fabric..

@stef215:  It is in Irmo, SC and it’s Jo-Lin’s.  Irmo is about 10 minutes from Columbia, SC.  I ended up buying the Dynasty from her for $1599 plus tax.  I travel from Charlotte to Columbia alot for work and found Jo-lin’s was the least expensive on the Maggie dresses I was interested in.
