This is my first post!! I have a question, I ordered Maggie Sottero’s Olivia as my dress and I absolutely love it! THere are a few things though I was thinking about changing and would like some opinions. I want to change the neckline from a semi-sweetheart to a full sweetheart. Also, the under layer is a fit and flare dress with the top shear part being an A-line shape. Do you think I should take out the seem of the under dress and add a peticoat or fuller skirt to make the entire dress A-line?? I have wider hips, a bigger behind and I am 5’2. I’m just nervous that the under dress is not going to be very forgiving. Thoughts are appreciated!!!

I think the dual look is the appeal of the Olivia. Maggie makes a bunch of other similar a-line dresses that has the lace overlay. Just look on their website.

Good choice. I think the sweet heart neck line will be a nice touch. I am unsure about changing the bottom.

I think it would be extremely difficult (if not impossible) to change the underskirt from fit and flate to A-line unless you order a LOT of extra material from the designer, and my guess is that the material and work to make that change would be so expensive, you would be better off buying a whole different dress if you really want the A-line look.
The sweetheart neckline alteration would probably be easy to do, but I like the neckline as is. I usually vote against sweetheart alterations though, because it’s a risk since you can’t be sure what it will look like until it’s done.

Yea, it’s a lot to think about. I appreciate all of your opinions! I am going to keep it how it is, because I do love it! might still just change the neckline. Thanks!!!
