@Utopia4us:  I’m waiting on pictures to be sent to me. For whatever reason my iphone took ALL the pictures on my phone with a big white spot in the middle. My younger sister took some pictures too, but the store had actually gotten some new dresses in so they had a photographer there and the owner had him take some pictures of me in my dress. Hopefully I’ll get them in soon! When I do I’ll send you a private message with them! I know for a FACT that several family members are on this site, but they don’t know my SN, so I don’t want to post a pic of the dress publicly because I want the dress to be a surprise! (I think they might be able to tell it is me even without a face or head.)

Oh, and how are either of you bustling your dresses? I was told I would need to 3 point bustle her because the skirt is big and heavy… but other than that I think it is down to French Bustle or American Bustle. I’m leaning toward French but honestly I’ve not a clue! Sadly I won’t get to try her on again until January, so I’ll be stealing ideas from both of you gal’s!

Kind of cut it close on the dress!

I bought the Maggie Sottero Shania dress! It is finally in and I got to try it on! I will have to post pics soon. My wedding is in January so they wont start alterations until October…It needs to be taken in on the side seams, it also needs a hem, a hoop, a bustle put in and cups sewn in! So lots of work still to do. I wish I ordered one size smaller but I went with the sale lady’s recommendation to order larger to be on the safe side…now I feel like they did that to make money on alterations since I will now be spending a whop-load of money on those. OH WELL I LOVE THE DRESS!!!

@Kaysi:  Still no pictures from the photographer, and it has been 2 months. My little sister had some but they were all washed out so you can’t see any detail. It really looked like a solid white, texture-less dress (which Shania is most certainly NOT). My dress should be in in December (maybe early Jan) so I’m going to get some pictures then! Oh and I ordered my dress one size up too, but I was RIGHT in the middle of a 2 and 4 and I decided to hedge my bet and go bigger than smaller. I tried on a sample size 6 and  we really only had to clamp slightly. Hopefully I made the right call!

@Utopia4us:  Its the end of October! Has your dress come in!?

@SakuraBlossomBee:  It has! It fits like a glove, really minimal alterations needed. I am starting alternations on Nov 6th, so i will post some pics when I go so you can see the intended bustle 😀

@Utopia4us:  Oh that is so great to hear! I’m hoping I’ll only need minimal alterations too. I can’t wait to see more pictures, she really is a stunning dress. I’m looking forward to the bustle looks. It is really hard to see what you really like in a sample gown.

But hey, since the wedding has been pushed back a few months I have plenty of time to decide now. LOL. 🙂

@SakuraBlossomBee:  OK dress twin! As promised a picture of the bustle! I am going with a a traditional bustle (I think it has 3 points) they are literally just taking from the middle of the skirt and pinning it up under my butt. The picture quality isn’t great, my Future Mother-In-Law was the only person who came along and she had some trouble with my iphone camera lol. But she got a couple that are decent.

Alternations cost break down:

Cups to make the boob area fit : $35

Hem: $250 – There are a few different layers to hem, plus for the top layer instead of doing a normal hem at the bottom they add little tucks throughout the skirt to preserve the orginal hemline

Bustle: $65

Total alterations cost $350

I’ll leave the picture gigantic so you can see the bustle better…
