I had a Sottero and Midgley dress. I wear a street size 4/6 and my wedding dress was a size 10! It fit me beautifully and needed very little alteration. I think you definitely want to size up a few sizes from your street size.

For reference-

I’m a size 2 in street clothes and I measured between an 8 and a 10 in Maggie Sottero sizes.

Did you look at the actual circumference  measurement  on their size chart? If not, google, go off your largest exact measure, to size down for alteration .

My gown was a Maggie – I wear a size 2 jeans and am 36DD on top – I needed a size 10, with a few alterations to bring it in around the middle, and up on the shoulders.

Radio edit – whats with the “dirty delete”. You can say f*ck on this site, but not the abbreviation for doubles D’s?  LMAO!

I was a street size 8 when I got married, but I had to order a size 12 in my Maggie Sottero dress because of my hips.  If I had ordered a dress that wasn’t fitted around the hips, I could have probably gotten away with a 10 or maybe even 8.  But I was a definite pear shape.  If I were you, I would take my actual measurements and look at one of their size charts.  The shape of the dress will determine whether or not you have to be strict with the size chart on particular measurements.  My dress also came in short or extra short length, and I think I got short because I am 5’3″.  This was in 2015 though so who knows what may have changed.

I am typically a size 4-6 streetsize, and my wedding dress was a size 8 and fit like a glove. I just had to hem the length and straps, and dart the cups a little. However, my dress was pretty light weight and had some give to it compared to some others. I said yes to a previously different dress from a different maker and had to order a size 10 in that designer.

Street size 4 here and I was measured between an 8 and 10 due to my bust size so I’d say she’s usually at least two sizes up from your Street size.

totally worth the the trip to try on in person – both for sizing and style. I thought I knew exactly what I wanted until I tried it on…

I agree would definitely go try it on as is the back a corset or zipper as that could allow for movement in sizing. As I too loved a dress in the pictures but bought something totally different.
