Can a seamstress let out the straps a bit? I believe there might be some extra that they could work with. ๐Ÿ™‚

I just googled it. Good lord, what a beautiful dress. A smaller size would be fitted through your torso so it wouldn’t rely on the straps to hold it up. They’re a delicate fabric so I can tell that the straps are there for decoration, not so much to hold the dress up.

This is my dress! OMG I’m so excited to see a thread on it, haha. I’ve only tried it on once, but the straps were not a problem at all (mine will have to be pulled up a tiny bit by the seamstress). I think the right size dress on you will solve the problem, and if the straps are still digging in, a seamstress should be able to help you, no problem. I wouldn’t worry about it!

kzaps:  I’m so excited to find someone considering the same dress!! Obviously I am biased, but I just love it, and I love that it’s not a commonly worn style (at least not that I know of!) You’ll have to keep us posted on what you end up deciding! But I totally think the straps will not be a problem whatsoever. Good luck! ๐Ÿ™‚

fallbrideindc: kzaps: OMG this is the dress I am thinking of buying too. I have tried on a fair amount of dresses and I am absolutely in LOVE with this dress and the “chunky” lace. I am so happy to finally see it on a real bride. I didn’t have a problem with the straps either when I tried it on, so I am thinking it’s cutting you under your arm pit, which totally can be fixed. Do you ladies mind sharing how much you paid? I live in Chicago and a few suburb bridal stores carry this dress so I am hoping to get at least one of them down to at least $1,800 from $2,000, but my sister says she thinks we can go lower. Would love to see more pics too (I wasn’t allowed to take any at my store). Thank you and this dress looks amazing on you!!! xoxo

oldentogolden:  fabulous!!! I’m always so excited to find another dress twin! Check out this page for another pic of a real bride in the dress — http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/off-whitenon-white-wedding-dresses-post-yours-please/page/5

My very generous mother paid for my dress so while I’m not *positive* what the exact figure was, I’m fairly sure my dress itself was exactly $1,800 (there was some other fee for it- maybe taxes- that brought the total up to just under $1,900) and that’s from a fancy schmancy dress place in Maryland. So I absolutely think you could get it closer to the $1,800 end of the spectrum. Good luck!!

If you have any pics of you in the dress, I’d love to see them ๐Ÿ™‚

oldentogolden:  ahhh, so sorry, I had a total reading comprehension fail earlier! I guess my coffee hadn’t kicked in yet! I see now that you said you couldn’t take pics when you tried it on (bummer!) I have a few more pics that I’m happy to share. The straps definitely needed to be pulled up so the proportions are a little off on me, but I’m hoping that having the right size plus some alterations will solve that!

OMG SO OBSESSED!! It looks amazing on you!! I just started cold calling stores about prices and so far someone offered $1849, however I just called a store in Indianapolis (where I am originally from) and she said if you buy that day and pay in full 15-20% off!! Now that is what I’m talking about ๐Ÿ™‚ I will definitely send pics once I get it! ๐Ÿ™‚
