Don’t have this dress, but try looking for a belt/sash on Etsy.com. They have tons, but they can be a little pricey sometimes. Good luck! You all look beautiful!

I ordered it! and love love love it. I can hardly wait now. I was also able to order it 3″ shorter for no extra charge. That was a nice surprise. I’ve been shopping on Esty for a belt and found a few, but it’s hard to narrow it down without physically seeing it and the dress together. I’m also planning to get the train shorted because of the weight .. and the length. .. it is pretty long.

Does anyone wedding pictures with the Venecia?  I’d like to know how it ends up looking in the big day?

My guess is that there are probably very few brides have had the chance to wear this for a wedding yet based on the fact that it is a newer model.

What is everything thinking veil wise for this dress?

@Caley:Yeah I thought that may be the  case, but why not ask!  The veil question is a good one.  I’m thinking that I’m going to try to all accessories simple, since the dress has a lot going on!

This is my dress too!! I can’t wait for it to come in!! I am also considering taking some off the train, but I am probably going to try to sell the dress after my wedding so I may just leave it alone. Anyone have an idea of what kind of bustle will work with this dress? I will not be wearing a veil, just a flower in my hair.

@ms.walter:

Oh wow, you really suit this dress.

I am having this dress too, I need to get the front taken up a bit so I can walk- at the try on last week it was – walk, trip, walk, trip!! I love the train and wont be getting it shortened, it is what makes the dress soo dramatic and special!! Even if it is heavy and tricky to deal with.

I am having it bustled from underneath, otherwise it was too heavy and would pull through the bustle hooks.

I am having a veil, but its one layer, thin and you can see through it to the detail on the dress…. Im only wearing the veil for the ceremony and for some photos (the veil in the wind shot- gotta have it!!)

Post more pictures ladies!!

I also am deciding on the Venecia dress….I had already ordered a dress previously and cancelled the order.  Now I am quite nervous about committing to anything.  I also tried with a black belt and it gave the dress a whole different look.  I’m really stuck on the shoulder strap though.  Unfortunetly the store I tried with did not order the dress with the strap 🙁  and there are no other stores in my area carrying this dress. has anyone else decided to go with the shoulder strap?

Beautiful photos ladies!!

@manda1231: You can go to ANY store that carries Maggie and order the dress.  Also, why wouldn’t they let you order the strap?  That seems strange, its part of the order like the length or something.

I won’t be using the strap that can be sold with the dress, but will be adding a halter or some other straps.  I’m worried about having to pull up the dress all night because of the weight.

Oh… I could defenitley order the strap with my own gown, they just didn’t order it for their stock; therefore, I would have to commit to the dress without seeing it in full.  I’m not sure why they choose not to order the strap when it’s removeable and gives their clientelle more options?!

But thank you so much for the email of the Toronto location that carries this gown.  It was not the store that I have already been to and they do have the strap to try on!!!  The strap is the whole reason I am interested in this gown and if the strap does not look right this won’t be the dress for me.  I look forward to trying it on this weekend.  Two different stores in the area have been notifying of a price increase of Maggie dresses in the next couple weeks.

For all you girls who ordered Venecia, what kind of alterations did you have to do and how much did it cost (if you don’t mind sharing)??? My dress just came in yesterday and I am so nervous that I am going to need a ton of alterations! The sample I tried on was a size 12 and it was HUGE on me, I ended up ordering a size 4. I did order the petite length but I am only 5’4″ so I am afraid it will still be way too long! I am also considering shortening the train or taking it off all together! I’m not going to try it on until next week but I will update with pics and alteration prices!

I am also 5’4 and ordered the petite length btu don’t plan to do anything to the train.  If you could let us know how much it comes out to… that would be great!  I look forward to it!  How did the 4 fit?  Were you measured?
