@AmberAustin: I’m going to try it on next week but I will let you know how the length turns out. I was measured for a size 4, my waist/bust measured for a size 2 but my hips measured for a size 4 so thats what I ordered.

I am in the Chicagoland area and have called everywhere for this dress.  Can someone tell me where they found this dress in the area as I would love to try it on.  I am willing to travel and see that someone found it in St. Louis and would be willing to go down there to try this dress on…please help 🙂

@beachbumz: I bought my Venecia in St. Louis at Clarices Bridal. They have a size 12 (i think) in diamond white with the detachable shoulder strap (it is the one in the pic I posted). I haven’t been there since I ordered my dress in October but I’m sure they can tell you if its still there if you call. I wouldn’t think they would sell their sample dress since it is a newer dress but you never know. It is beautiful in person! My dress came in last week and I get to try it on this Thursday!!

So, I got to try on my Venecia today!! The size 4 fit well but they said I could have ordered a size 2 and been fine. They laced up the corset back and it was only about an inch wide at the top and it was tied as tight as it could go the rest of the way down. The length is about 3 inches long on me (I am 5’4″ and I ordered petite length) but I put on 2 inch heals and a mermaid slip under and it is just about perfect length. Now I have to go see the seamstress to have the cups put in and the train cut off. I will post pictures soon!

@ms.walter:Thanks for letting us know about the length.  Now I now with a petticoat or slip and 2 inch heels I should fine!  Good information!  Definitely post pics when you get them!  Also, what made you decide on cups vs getting a bra?

@AmberAustin: No problem, I will post pictures as soon as I can get my sister to come over and take some! I decided to go with cups because the back of the dress is pretty low and I didn’t want to wear a corset bra. I am getting married in Florida in June so I didn’t want anymore layers than I needed! The cups only cost $15 and will be about $10 to sew them in.

@ms.walter:Yeah I”m definitely debating b/w a corset bra and cups.  I think I’ll go to a custom bra store and bring something to the first fitting to compare with cups.

Excited to see new photos….I did end up ordering this dress and will likely end up wishing the summer away in antcipation for it to arrive.  My dress shopping experience has been anything but fun and exciting and in the back and forth battle to get this dress I completely forgot about the shorter length nor was it mentioned by the store.  I am 5ft 2…. are there any petiti brides that ordered the standard length, if so how did it turn out.

Although the shopping experience was less than desireable I am very happy with the end result.

I’d love to see other brides in this magnicant dress.

@manda1231: I am 5’4″ and I ordered the petite length. I am wearing 4 inch heals and a mermaid crinoline and that makes the length perfect for me! Barefoot it is about 3-4 inches too long.

Beautiful!

Thanks for the info regarding length.  I think I would have needed alterations even on the petite length.  I typically wear flats, so am hoping to pull off wearing a 2 1/2 ” heel.  My fiance is 6’2″ so I need a little height.

Caley, in response to headpiece (from quite a while ago)…I’ve decided on wearing a birdcage….absolutley love this look!

I also need to pair this dress with a coat/bolero/shrug/shall, as our wedding is a december wedding.  I’m concerned with anything taking away from the bottom of the dress, competing with the dress or resulting in looking like a giant marshmellow.  any suggestions?!

I love the birdcage look too! Will look super nice. I think that jacket will be amazing for Venecia… as long as it is the same colour white, I think the style suits it pefectly!
