Much more affordable.  I looove the Adorae but I DO NOT PLAY when it comes to budget.  And it was over the budget.  ((Superwoman Stance)).  I plan to blog about it after the wedding and show how you can actually save if you stick to your guns.  Fiance is paying for the wedding all by himself…in cash, no debt.  And I couldn’t hv him pay so much for the Sottero.  So I started a post asking for suggestions and a bee told me about Da Vinci.  Honestly, Da Vinci seems to be purposely making the gowns similar to not just Sottero but I noticed other familiar looking designs as well.  Since I’m not a “name brand” girl outside of the wedding, I’m not one with the wedding either.  I really had no idea of “designer” gowns.  I just had a vision of how I want to look on my wedding day.

@pengoala:Me too!  I haven’t tried it on yet.  I have an appointment later this week.  I’m hoping it works out.  It’s really the silhouette and overall look I’m going for and not so much the detailing.  So it should work out.  Fingers crossed!!!!

I have a davinci dress.  I wasn’t looking for a specific style when i tried it on, it was just what I liked best.  Mine was 490.  I was so happy to find something under my budget!

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE!!!!!  I tried on the DaVinci 50024 gown on Sunday after falling in love with the Sottero “Adorae” and BOUGHT IT!!!!  It is the same dress!!!  I looove the fit, the material, the elegance of both gowns.  I was concerned bc the pics of the DaVinci had a slightly different beaded belt, but it was nothing to be concerned about.  The belt was beautiful.  It was the exact vision of how I want to look on my wedding day.  But with the Sottero price tag of $1200 and the DaVinci tagged at ***$689*** had to go with the DaVinci!!!!  It fits perfectly, I won’t need any alterations.  I literally got my dream silhouette for right under half!!!

So there you have it, Budget Brides.  If you’ve fallen in love with a gown but can’t swallow the price, see if DaVinci makes a similar style!!!  Hope it works out for you the way it worked out for me!!!

I had tried on the Adorae first and loved it, and stumbled across the DaVinci version in a different shop. After trying on Adorae first, the material of the DaVinci did not feel quite as nice, and I wasn’t crazy about how the seam on the side of the DaVinci was aligned with the ruching, but that is just my opinion. And I probably would have never noticed those things if I had not tried the Adorae first!

So I definitely think that the DaVinci dresses are a great option to get a great look for a low price, but if the Maggie Sottero/Sottero and Midgely are within your budget, I would spend the extra $ for the better quality. But that is just me, I am a stickler for the material.

I bought the Davinci 50028, and it is GORGEOUS!  Their gowns really flatter the curvy girls, (I’m a size 20 currently,) and seem to be pretty well made. I can’t wait till my gown comes in. THey also have one week delivery, which is handy if you have  short engagement.

Oh, and I got my gown for $610!  I saw it somewhere else for almost 800!! I did not buy it online, I went with a local bridal salon.

Davinci is cheaper about half the price and is still a designer name. Its nearly a knock off since most of their designs mimic Maggie very well.
