To save money, Fiance and I want to send paper or postcard Save-The-Date Cards to our guests while give the magnet versions to our local family and bridal party. Is it okay? Buying only magnets costs a lot of money (don’t forget postage costs).

@BeeRod527: It sounds fine to me, as long as you keep the magnets to just family and bridal party, i don’t see why not!

That’s a great idea I think!!! Gives me an idea, as we wanted to do magnets but they are pricey. maybe I’ll just send them to certain people!!

Try the magnetstreet website. We did all magnets (over 85), and I don’t recall the price being more than a couple of hundred dollars or so? We kept them modern and small (business card size, with rounded corners)… Because, well, no one wants a life-size version of anyone’s face on their refrigerator. LoL
The bestman has another one next to ours for a different couple, and it’s HUGE. I’m sure those do cost an arm and a leg. However, we all found it tacky to expect people to put something so obnoxiously large on display in their home, for what should be a very simple STD.

@smv22114: Fiance didn’t like anything on Magnet Street. Plus, whatever picture we use on the STD might be too small anyway.
@pengoala: I was afraid this would be “tacky”. I talked to my mom about it and she said she doesn’t need an STD magnet. She prefer an 8 x 10 picture for the living room instead.

@BeeRod527: Yeah, I guess that makes sense! Hmm…so maybe everyone gets a regular STD and then special gifts for family and bridal party?
