I’m doing the same thing!  Well, except they both live far from me and are busy, but otherwise…

For the ceremony, though, my BFF will stand next to me, b/c my sister will be 6 days from her due date and not able to stand for it.  Otherwise I’d have had her sit next to me.

You might ask them both to give toasts, though.  It doesn’t take too much extra time, but not asking your friend to might come across as a slight to your friend.  I presume you want her as your Maid/Matron of Honor also b/c of your relationship with her and not just b/c she has time to help you plan.  And giving a toast is a nice honor of your friendship.

My best friend had me as her maid of honor and our married other best friend her matron of honor. I am having those two girls in my wedding so I am having two matrons of honor. They will both do speeches too. I think your decision is great and not uncommon!

I’m doing this! I have two best girlfriends that I couldn’t choose between. One is married, and one is single, so I made my married friend the matron, and the unmarried one the maid! They are my only two attendants, so it worked out rather nicely for me. 🙂

You can do whatever you want! My sister-less friend couldn’t decide between all 3 of her best friends so they were all "of honor"! One was married so she was Matron of Honor then the other two were both Maids of Honor. Whatever works!

Im doing it.  My cousin (maid of honor) lives in NY.  My best friend (matron of honor) lives in MI, where the wedding will take place.
