i actually really like the idea and considered doing it for my girls (maid of honor in turquoise, bridesmaids in coral, or vice-versa), but i decided to put them all in the same color. they will all be wearing turquoise, but my maid of honor’s dress is a different style & a slightly different shade.

@new york bride 13: I was in a wedding last May where we all wore mismatched DB dresses in Malibu. The Maid/Matron of Honor wore a black dress with a Malibu sash… Here’s a pic 🙂

And here’s a wedding where the Maid/Matron of Honor had a different colored sash than the other girls (the BMs all had navy sashes that matched the dresses, the Maid/Matron of Honor had a pale yellow sash)

I don’t mean to offend anyone who chooses this look, but i find it visually distracting when the Maid/Matron of Honor is in a different color than the bridesmaids. I prefer a more unified look.

The best man would match the Maid of Honor.
I have seen this done before, and when done properly it can flow very well :).
