Maid of honor doesn’t like my dress

I love your dress! Who cares that it’s not pure white? The ivory and blush shades are so romantic! Also, they might have to remove some lace to take it in, but since it appears to be a recurring pattern, I don’t think it’ll significantly change the look.

If I were you, I’d have a serious sit down with Maid/Matron of Honor to tell her that she needs to be more gentle and supportive, and I’d also have a sit down with Fiance to tell him to support you and tell his sis to lay off.

I don’t have much to say other than I get how you feel. My stepmom is very fancy and said pretty much all the stuff that your SIL said to you about your dress. Also, I went dress shopping with my mom and not her so I think she was salty about that as well. Personally, I think your dress is stunning and you look amazing in it. FWIW I’ll post what my stepmom thought I should wear and then a picture of the dress I wore, you can see how different than are, but I didn’t care because it was MY dress and I had to be the one wearing it.

This is the style she wanted me to wear:

And this is what I decided to wear, as you can see they are VERY different:

brookeee16 :  you look fantastic in your dress, bee. Your SIL is being pushy, rude, and wrong. Ignore her.

brookeee16 :  It sounds like it could be jealousy tbh. When I read your post I wasn’t expecting the dress to be as beautiful as it is. What’s important is that you love it, and your Fiance will love whatever you wear. For your Future Sister-In-Law to say that to your Fiance is beyond rude. Are you sure you want her as your MOH? Either way, stick with your dress, it’s gorgeous.

catash :  Same here! Before I saw the pics I was thinking the worst!

brookeee16 : Gosh Bee she sounds like such a handful. But you look simply stunning in that dress – it hugs your curves beautifully, and the colour looks wonderful against your skin tone.

So yeah. Screw her. I am sorry people like her even exist, let alone are part of your bridal party. She’s likely just jealous – acting that way because you’re obviously a far nicer, more gratious person (and getting married!). Try to block it out! Do what YOU want – this is YOUR day!

That dress is gorgeous and you will be a beautiful bride – tell her to pull her head in and if she hasn’t got anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.  Also tell her that if she says a single syllable more to your fiance about the dress, it will be a friendship ending move.

You look freaking amazing in the dress and it’s gorgeous. Your Future Sister-In-Law is an asshole. I’m sure your fiancé will love it!

brookeee16 : You look amazing!! If it looks this great on you being 2 sizes too big then imagine what it will look like once it’s altered!!

It would depend on the seamstress but I know with my dress, the lace pattern was off-centre so they removed in and did the placing a second time. I would think if they had to cut to decrease the size, they would relay the lace but nobody can know for sure. I recommend asking them how they plan to handle it.

You look so gorgeous in your dress. The back view is especially stunning with the deep U. Don’t listen to her.

I would let her know, though, that if she tells my Fiance anything else about my dress, she will be attending as a guest. She needs to keep her opinions to herself and, at the very least, not share them with him.
