Do you have time to change the order? I feel like you’re stuck here. You can’t ask them to buy another dress since you already agreed to the teal ones.

One of the skills we have to learn in life is being assertive without being agressive.

It’s a bit late for this particular situation if the dresses have already been ordered.

As an example, practice in front of a mirror ” I prefer turquoise. I am sorry it’s not your favorite, but you do look beautiful in my chosen color. Please choose any turquoise dress you love.”

One of the tricks you can use is to simply repeat yourself.

You: ” I prefer turquoise. I am sorry it’s not your favorite, but you do look beautiful in my chosen color. Please choose any turquoise dress you love”.

Them: “I refuse to wear that.I want teal”.

You: “I have already chosen turquoise as my wedding color. Please choose any turquoise dress you love”.

Them: “Teal is better. I’m going to order teal”.

You: “You’re welcome to choose teal as your wedding color. I prefer turquoise. I am sorry it’s not your favorite, but you do look beautiful in my chosen color. Please choose any turquoise dress you love.”

That’s unfortunate that your BMs would not go with what you wanted. I guess now you just have to make the best of it. It’s not right for them to change your vision. However, teal and turqouise aren’t that different, are they? Can you post pictures of the swatches?

Schedule a new shopping trip and pay for 5 new turquoise dresses yourself. I’m sure you can find something cheapish. (Perhaps you can even talk your mom into contributing because she was partly responsible, though that would be a very cheeky move to try). If the Maid/Matron of Honor refuses, tell her that instead of being in the bridal party, she can do a reading and wear what she wants,

Maybe instead of the other suggestions, you could get turquoise sashes for the girls in teal and teal sashes for the girls in turquoise. It would be a cheaper way to have turquoise on everyone, and blend the look.
