I am mailing my invites soon – and I was hoping for some advice from the hive. I have heard the reccomendation to ask for them to be hand-stamped so they don’t have to go through a machine, but are there any other golden pieces of knowledge out there for successful delivery?
My envelopes are business sized with embossing on the lower left corner and a sticker seal on the back, just fyi

Your embossing on the lower left corner is probably going to be in trouble. The PO can hand cancel the stamp.. but the envelopes all still have to go through the routing machine. The routing machine puts those little black lines on the envelope and unfortunately they are usually in the lower left corner.

I would take them into the post office and request that they not be put through the machine…they CAN do that, but you just have to ask. My local post office actually offered it up to me when I brought the invitations in to be mailed.

Take a complete envelope to the post office and confirm what the postage will be before you stamp them all!

Just FYI we went to multiple post offices and they all told us they could hand cancel the stamp but there was no way to avoid the routing machine.. this may be a state by state thing? We send ours from MA.

I posted a thread yesterday about my learning experiences, here’s the link. I think there’s some golden nuggets of advice, but I’m a little biased
