I’ve heard you should go to the post office and ask them to hand cancel them so they look nicer.
Did anyone do/is going to do this? I keep picturing dirty looks from the employees when I bring in 100 invites to be hand canceled!

who cares about the dirty looks, its their job! 🙂

I heard even if they hand cancel, a lot of times they still are run through the machines so it doesn’t matter too much. 🙁 I’m interested in the replies to this topic!

well you’re paying them EXTRA to do it, so they should just smile and do it! i am wondering how much a difference it makes though, them looking nicer or not…so i’ll follow this thread

Most post offices will let you do it yourself… but it still might go through sorting machines later, so I doubt it makes much of a difference.

Hmmm well if they will probably end up going thru the machines later, maybe there isn’t really a point?

Relentless Bride recently shared her tale on her blog. Looks like it’s recommended that you set up an appointment if your invites need to be hand-canceled. Anyone have success setting up appointments at the P.O.?

I did this yesterday!!!! I told her I could do it for her, so she wouldn’t have to, but she was like “You can’t take my stamp!!!” LOL she was hilarious. But she was nice & said she’d do them for me & that they’d get mailed out that day. Who cares about the dirty looks?! I’m sure people ask them to do things everryyydaayy way worse than what you’re asking them. And you only have 100 invites?! At least it’s not like 300!!! It shouldn’t take them that long.
