Well, we had our first wedding fail. A family member somehow didn’t get an invite to the Engagement Party. I’m not sure if the envelope was not addressed properly, or if the correct names were on the envelope but just weren’t noticed.
I don’t think it’s a big deal. I think we fixed it – a new invite is going out. We all get along, so it shouldn’t be a big problem.
I just hope it’s our only mailing list fail.

FI’s birthday card from his parents this year was 2 months late. It was postmarked before his birthday and it just didn’t make it. We couldn’t even believe it! I guess mail does get lost sometimes.

We had an invite that was returned to sender a week before our wedding. We sent them out in July. Mail definitely does get lost.
Luckily, the intended recipient had not planned on attending, but he said his mail had been forwarded.

Well, since it’s an informal party, we did one invite per household, not one per person. So I don’t know if the name was left off, or just not noticed. I was a little worried – that crazy etiquette-fail-causes-unforeseen-family-drama paranoia – but I think it’s alright. I sent an apology email, a new one should be on the way, and no one seems upset.
On a side note, 2 months is nuts. I wonder where your FI’s card was all that time!

I’m having a small wedding and know everyone coming. We STILL had an invite returned because a friend moved into a new house and didn’t tell us! Fail! And we tried so hard. The return to sender invite took 2 months to come back.
