I think this is a prime example on focusing on what matters. The less time you have to plan i think is actually a good thing. When theres more time you it leaves room to second guess and compare your wedding details to others, which is rarely a good receipe.

@Miss Tattoo: I agree! Determination plus a few generous friends can make so much happen!
@USAandKSA: Thank you so much! I really had a ton of fun taking pictures! 🙂 For the centerpieces, they mostly just had the first one I posted on here, the 2nd one with the much taller glass in the center was on the head table. She had a friend that had gotten married either earlier this year or sometime last year that lent most of the centerpiece stuff to her. She supplimented a bit with stuff from Goodwill (I LOVE Goodwill… they have so much neat stuff!).
@Mrs.ChubbyBunny: I wanted to post it for just that reason. 🙂 I mean, I was a budget bride too, but nothing like this. I love how her wedding came out and I couldn’t help but show it off! I know I see posts all the time about people trying to figure out weddings under $3k and I thought this just might be a help! 🙂
@bklynbridetobe: That’s so true! I do think that the more time you have to think about things and especially search the internet and wedding forums and see what other people have done, it’s so easy to get sucked in to thinking that you HAVE to have this or that. I think it’s also easy to get the eyes bigger then stomach syndrome and line up a ton of time consuming things and then end up buying because you just don’t have time. In the end, the only thing that really matters is being married to the person you love! Well and depending on each person, probably sharing a special day with family and friends as well. 🙂
@CupCakeMeg: and @eehkay: Agreed and thank you so much!

*bump* Just want to make sure that newer brides with tight budgets and/or timelines know that there is still every possibility of a gorgeous wedding! 🙂

I have to have another AW moment on this. My cousin and her daughter drove down yesterday to visit and picked up a disk of the pics I took. While she was here, I put them up on our big screen tv and showed them all to her. She was so thrilled with all of the pictures! Ones that I had privately been somewhat disappointed in (I’m picky and some of the pics were a bit blurred and the later evening ones ended up being less sharp/detailed then I’d hoped) she absolutely adored! She confided that she’d been a bit apprehensive because the “official” photographer’s camera had broken that morning and she’d ended up borrowing my cousin’s, and my cousin was worried that the unfamiliarity might mean that she’d not get a lot of good pics. After seeing the ones I took, she said she’s not worried anymore – she’s got a ton of great wedding photos! 🙂
It makes me so happy that I could give them a gift that they love and have it be something that I love to do! 😀
HAHA! And my 2nd cousin (her daughter) told me that she wants me to take photos at her wedding when she ends up getting married! 😀 Talk about making me feel great! 🙂
