I love your dress but you have but you are looking for something with a lighter feel. I understand. I think what ever you do you should stick with a sweetheart neckline. it looks great on you. You could get a seamstress to make a light overlay over the dress. Just not sure if that’s cost effective. I got my mock dress from Ebay/china for $200. I understand the pressure I had all king of people trying to get me to pick other dresses, very princess like dresses. I new the dress I wanted before I went to the store.

This might be another bees dress I’ve posted below. I saved the pic cos I loved it! I post it here as I think with an overskirt in this material will give you the soft look and basically be like your pic no2 you posted.
and if you like bows you could get a gorgeous satin bow sash added like the photo above for the front or back too.
You look a million dollars in your dress.

I like the dresses you posted, but i really love the one you have. I feel like it fits the venue just fine and is really timeless

I voted to keep it. It looks amazing on you and is very flattering for your shape!

ferncully: I think that dress looks fabulous on you! Due to the satin fabric though, I don’t think that you will be able to easily transform the dress into what you envision for a vineyard wedding. Since you got such a great deal, I’m sure that you can find another bride who will pay $200 to take it off your hands, then you can use that money towards another dress.
PS – I don’t think you’re an old bride at age 30. I got married at 33, so…:)

Thanks Bees! I’m going to go forward with my appointment tomorrow to see what can be done and make couple appointments with my best friend who promised not to cry and make me feel pressured into buying something. Just to see what is out there that I can afford and will come on time before making a decision.
Worst case scenario I add some details to this dress which you have all made me feel much better about. I will definitely keep the sweetheart neckline! I never considered it but it wound up being very flattering.

PS your not an old bride I’m 38. Age is not a number it’s a mental state.

I think that the dress looks amazing on you!

When you said sample sale in a tent and $200 I never imagened you were going to show that gorgeous dress. I love it.
You have to love it though. Isn’t Vows/Bridal Power in boston? Look up ‘I Found The Gown’ on YouTube. I think they can even search out samples of that exact dress you love.

I don’t see how this doesn’t fit the venue, it’s a very elegant and formal dress.I was expecting you to say the dress was too formal. The ones you posted that you like look much ‘younger’ and less formal to me. Your dress looks amazing on you! I love it, but you have to love it and be happy, and it sounds like you have your mind made up, so get something else. I’m divorced and didn’t love my dress and tried to alter it to make it what I wanted and I was never happy with it. Get what you want or you’ll always regret it.

Wow, girl, that dress looks like a dress fit for a princess. I can’t imagine you in a better dress, tbh, and for $200! It fits you so well, you look amazing.
But, it’s your day. Post your other choices if you find them when you go looking! Your venue looks gorgeous, I’m sure you will be beautiful no matter what dress you choose.

I think this is beautiful! It looks wonderful on you! Good luck!

First of all I’d like to say your dress is beautiful! But I see how those alternatives might fit better with the venue 🙂 I’ve personally been spending too much time on etsy these days looking up dresses and surprisingly there are so many beautiful romantic dresses around $1000. try giving etsy a shot. searching

Have you considered getting an over skirt from somewhere like BHLDN? You might have to remove some tulle and such from your dress but it’s always an option.

I agree with the other bees! Sincerely, the dress looks great on you, but if you’re not feeling it… Sell it and get a new one. I’m pretty sure it is going to be easy to get your 200$ back!
