So, this is my dress. I don’t know what I was thinking when I said yes to it and it’s insanely expensive but maybe my perception is just skewed. I already put down about a third of the cost so I was condering just calling it a loss and going with something different. I’d go with a different veil and the look on my face is stupid because I was in the middle of a sentence and I have no makeup on soooo….
Do you think I should stick with this one or maybe get one off of dressilyme?

I think you need to pull your hair back from your face and try removing the glasses. Add dangly earrings. I think the sleeves are a bit loose and some fitting is in order. Move the veil lower on your head. Then I think its perfect.

Can you remove the sleeves? Or make them smaller? Is that just a bolero? I agree about moving the veil lower and pulling your hair back. It is a very pretty dress but I think with the sleeves and the veil together like that it is a bit much. That dress is really pretty, I don’t think you need to find a different one at all. You look good in it. Just change it up a bit 🙂

@lochnessy: I’m sorry but I think you can do better. First, I think the bolero doesn’t go with the dress. And also I don’t like how the fabric bunches up around the waist and then it transitions to tulle. I think maybe it is just a confusing dress. However, the shape is perfect for you and I think you would beautiful in something similar but just less complicated.

@lochnessy: Just my two cents, but I think you need to take off the bolero. You have the lace, and then the pickups, and then the tulle bottom… it looks a little too much all at once. Can you post a pic of it on without the bolero, maybe?

I look horrid with the bolero off.. I think I’m just self conscious when it comes to my arms. In any case, I caved today and went searching for a new gown. Lucky me! I found 3 gowns for under $400! I would like your opinins though. Stick with this gown that I hate? Or go with New Dress 1, 2, or 3? 🙂 AHHH! Sorry the pics are huuuuuge!

@lochnessy: dress 2 looks great on you!!!! I’m sorry but I dont care for the original dress AND I think you look GREAT WITHOUT the bolero!!

@lochnessy: You look really good in satin! Not many brides can pull satin off, that I can say for sure!
It’s a toss-up between Dress 1 and Dress 3. Judging on your smile and basing on the most flattering dress, my vote is Dress 3!! (Unless you still would rather prefer a lot of tulle still)
ETA: Agreed with PPs about losing the bolero. You’ve got great arms! I don’t know what you were talking about in your OP.

@lochnessy: Wow, they all look great on you! But I kinda like number 2 the most 🙂

Guess im the minority…I actually like your look with the dress you already put money down on. I love the bolero with it as well. It gives it a couture/unique look. When it comes to pick-ups I am personally not a fan but the look over all is pretty. Lower the veil as well.
However, if you do not stick with the original gown then I would try on other dresses. I do not really care for your other options.

@lochnessy: Much, much, MUCH prefer your original. It gives you a lovely shape, and it’s just the bolero that needs a bit of adjustment (or go for a slightly plainer one). The other 3 look way cheaper and don’t flatter you as well. Of course though, you have to go with what you feel is the best!

I’m a fan of the original dress. I agree about hemming the sleeves so that they’re shorter, however. Of course it’s going to look really clashy when you don’t have your hair or makeup done.
Oh, it’s a bolero. Whoops. I’d look for a less fussy one.

@lochnessy: I really love your original dress. But you need to wear what makes YOU happy 🙂

@lochnessy: Dress 3 looks great – I agree with PP, you have got NOTHING to worry about with your arms, you look much better without the bolero (although I think the bolero in the first picture is way too big too, which doesn’t help).
I think you would look better with a bigger skirt than on dress 2 – you’ve got a lovely waist, and the shape of the dress in your original post does really emphasise that! I think you’d look stunning in a ballgown.
In fact, looking back at that first post I like it more and more – just lose that bolero, and you’ll look amazing.
