- Wedding: October 2012
Ok Bees….its been awhile since I posted, life just got so busy! But I am married now for almost 2 months and am loving it!! So like a good bride, I was logging into Wedding Wire to post my vendor reviews. I used WeddingWire to plan my entire wedding (since it was destination), so I wanted to help out other brides plus give honest reviews so the vendors had positive feed back.
A little back story…..My Fiance and I at the time had picked Savannah GA for our wedding place…he wanted a beach and we both just loved Savannah. We live in Pennyslvania so we had no choice but to find all our vendors via the web. We found a company, for ceremony coordination, read their entire website and emailed a bunch of questions. So after finalizing all the details and seeing our date was open, we sent them $150 deposit to hold our date. At first the communication was great, emails and phone calls answered in timely manner, etc. So then it went for a few months before we started planning our trip down to finalize all details in May. All of our other vendors were very accomodating since we were out of town and were making every effort to meet with us….except the ceremony people! Who are the most important! We were met with rudeness and excuses. Then the communication pretty much stopped and so after our trip down there, we hired another coordinator for our day and cancelled the original one. We lost our $150 deposit.
So after our wedding I was logging into WW to leave all my reviews. I typed up the first coordinators review. I wanted everyone to be aware of what happened and why we cancelled. My hope was to save another desination bride from using them and falling victim to their “niceness”. I wasn’t rude or didnt use profanity but I was honest and blunt. I logged in the following day to see that my review of the place was deleted, leaving their perfect 5.0 rating in place. So I contacted them and my photographer about it and asked what was up. Thats where the problem is….WW claims that since they weren’t “active in my day” I cant review them! And to me that is wrong on every level! We had a contract, we paid them money…they screwed up!!!
I have talked on the phone to WW with two different people and I can’t believe what they are telling me. I could have saved $150, there might be another bride out there who had the same problem, but couldn’t review them.
All WW asks is that you had a contract, which we did. But there is a small detail in their policy manual that it has to be a valid contract and that they actively participated in your day!!
Am I nuts or is this just wrong?!?! WW is claiming they are trying to be fair! But I think its only being fair to themselves and the vendor…not the brides!
I have spoken to a lot of local people and I want to see this changed. The vendors may actually have a 5.0 rating or they may have a 5.0 rating by default! Please help me get this changed!!!!!
