I would send a quick text saying that you got the STD and how excited you and DH are and sign it “love Eve and Adam” or something like that.

totally agree with Novella. people spell my name wrong all the time, so i just find a way to write my name on something so they know.

that said, my Future Father-In-Law still spells my name wrong, despite knowing me for 4 years, and having me on Facebook! my name is spelt correctly there!

my boss also spells my name wrong, and he sees the correct spelling in emails countless times each day.

i just don’t take it personally anymore. you can’t win with some people.

Just a quick note to them should be fine. 🙂

@Novella:  I think that’s a really great idea! (: My aunt always spells my name wrong for some reason! It’s not even a hard name to spell haha!

ETA: Just saw your update! What if you asked him to forward it along or something because you know how hard she must have worked on them and you want her to see your message? or just even ask for her email and tell him it’s so you could thank her personally?

I got a card for my birthday when I was 12 years old, my friend knew me for at least 2 years, but I guess she never saw ROXANNE in print….. so I got “Rocksand”! Some people never get past spelling….

@happyface:  Hahah, that’s cute! I don’t think I would have been able to hide my confusion when I opened it 😉

is it REALLY a massive issue? could you bring it up in a jokey way?

if it’s hard to just openly say ‘the spelling is wrong’ and ou don’t have that kind of relationship with these people, i’d probably just ignore it.

it’s not like you’re going to treasure the placecards and invitations as a keepsake, is it?

I wouldn’t worry about it or care if someone spelled or got DH’s name wrong.  I know I had a few of those myself on my invites and I caught them when they returned their RSVP cards by writing in their names on the M___________ line.  I agree with the pp that its not like you are planning to do something special with the envelope your invite will come in.

This happened to me and I was actually in the wedding. It ends up that the bride (my friend) actually mixed up my FI’s first name and another friend’s husband’s first name. I agree with PP’s suggestions of how to address it. My friend and I laugh about it now and sometimes she calls him the wrong name as a joke now.

my own grandmother spells my name wrong. i’ve stopped caring.

people will always spell my name wrong. at least when i get married, it will only be my first name that’s wrong instead of both…

My name is commonly mis spelled for another common spelling of my name.  Even after I write it correctly.  I’ve given up correcting poeple.  And I wouldn’t worry about it to much.  It was just a simple mistake.

I’m not sure why it really matters in the end.  Yah it sucks that they don’t know how it spell it, but it’s not like it’s his name spelled wrong on any of YOUR wedding invitations, etc.  Wedding planning is stressful enough, I would just let it slide.

I wouldn’t even address it. Your husband was invited which is all that really matters.
