I agree with PPS:
VOMIT–defintiely afraid of! I hate hearing, smelling, or seeing it and ESPECIALLY doing it! If someone is sick (or even coughs) I get as far away as possible!
FISH–My cousin gave me this phobia in a lake once when he said a big fish was under me. I don’t touch them or eat them.
THE DARK–I always swear someone is looking in at me when it’s dark out and our lights are on (even with blinds shut). I’m afraid someone is lurking in the darkness, so I keep lights on.
ANTS–I had a bad experience with them biting me once–I hate the darn things! When I’m outside I always feel like they are crawling on me.

I mean like clusters as in like what a honeycomb looks like. especially on skin, or something slimy. I will not post a photo example because it will bother people and its just not even something Im willing to google anymore lol. Like holes that are really close together and all in a cluster. I just shuddered as I typed that out….

I am literally the EXACT same way. I had a student once who threw up in class and I acted on impulse and ran out of the room…..not kidding. Poor little 8 year old…good thing there was another adult in the room. I limit myself to 2-3 drink maximum because the only times I’ve ever puked were after having 4+ drinks….I threw up 2x when I was 21 and haven’t since. I santizie door knobs and desks, and instructed my students that if they ever stay home from having a stomach virus, they have to tell me, so I can clean everything. During peak stomach bug seasons I give them hand wipes as they come in the classroom….but they actually appreciate it. The thought of being preggers and having morning sickness scares the bejesus out of me!!

I have a fear of earthquakes. Like, when they come for the garbage in my office and wheel the cart down the hall I alwasy think it’s an earthquake and freak out.
I also am terrified of getting food poisoning. It has not really ever happened to me but I am terrified of salmonella, etc. WHenever I go out to eat it always crosses my mind and I hvae to consciously forget it so that I can enjoy my meal.
Also hate stinkbugs. Yuck.

Yeah I’m not a fan of earthquakes, thunder, and lightning either. I especially hate when thunder is so loud that it shakes the house!!

I have no idea if I commented on this thread, but I am so afraid of the dark. I hate it.

My biggest are(in order):
- Scary movies: I cannot for the life of me, go sit in a dark movietheater and watch a scary movie! My Fiance makes fun of me ALL the time! I literally have nightmares for WEEKS about the scary movIe.
- Exorcisms: the fact that these things are REAL, is so scary to me!!!! I had my future brother in law explain it to me (he is a priest) and the conversation freaked me out!!! I couldn’t sleep for weeks!
- Clowns- cannot and will not have them at my daughter’s bday parties. I don’t care. Ever since I saw the movie “it” when I was like 6 years old. Don’t ask me why I was watching that at that age to begin with. Lol
- Cockroaches and rats- they get HUGE here in NYC! It’s almost as if I’m paralyzed when I see one!!!!! My Fiance has to come rescue me. Lol
I think that’s it for now……lol

I’m reaaaallly scared of spiders. It used to be so bad that if one was on the OUTSIDE of my car, I would have to pull over and I’d start hyperventilating 🙁 I’m still scared of them, but definitely not as bad as before.
I would say my #1 fear now is definitely ventriloquist (sp?) dolls. They freak me out! I really hate porcelain dolls, too.
I’m also scared of racoons, skunks, and being trapped in an elevator.
This post makes me sound like a wimp. LOL

Nah, if anything it should make you feel better! Read through all the responses… we all have some rational and irrational fears. We all deal with them differently, but at least we can sympathize with each other now!! =o) It also seems like once you develop a phobia, it becomes easier to develop other phobias. Not a scientific claim, just what I seem to notice.

I grew up in Michigan. I caught frogs and little garter snakes for fun when I was kid. I think Daddy Long Leg spiders are kind of cute. Then I moved to Texas and met the scourge of the planet – giant flying cockroaches. I will run away screaming like a little girl. They can’t hurt me, and it doesn’t matter. I hate the disgusting bastards.
I miss home.

I keep coming on here to see if anyone else is afraid of pool drains, but alas, I am the only one with this ridiculous phobia!
I googled lists of phobias and they have some crazy ones on there, but none for pool drain-fearers! I must really be crazy, haha.
I am afraid of throwing up though, and of others throwing up, and of seeing it on TV… I think about it almost every episode I watch to be really ready to close my eye and ears and run out of the room if a character starts to look sick….
