Share your wisedom with me!
I love the idea of having a monogram for our wedding. Can anyone tell me either:
1. A site that helps you make one for free
2. Or…can someone give me instructions for have to make one in word? Or other ideas for how they made one on the computer themselves

Here’s a really cool site that helps you do a lot of monograms in photoshop http://weddingmonograms.blogspot.com/
I think the author also runs a buisness, so you could probably ask her to do it for you if you wanted.

Here is a tutorial I found for Photoshop a while ago. (Shh I illegally downloaded it). I know she has others around her site, you just have to kind of look for them. Good luck!

Oooh, I did this for my menus!
Type your first initial, then his last initial, then his first initial.
Make your first initial and his first initial smaller than the middle letter.
Choose a fancy script you like (Edwardian Script ITC?) and make it this font
Format ~>Font ~>Character Spacing ~> Condensed
(Adjust until you like it)

I wonder what brides did in the days before being able to instantly get advice and feedback from fellow brides! haha

Mrs. Penguin posted a tutorial for this: http://www.weddingbee.com/2007/09/28/monograms-for-the-technologically-challenged/
I used powerpoint to make mine. The steps are very similar to the ones in Mrs. Penguin’s post. I just found it easier to add illustrations and play with different layouts in powerpoint.
