So today I purchased an OPK. I read the instructions and gave it a go. Im currenly on CD11. I got only the control line and no test line at all.
I just wanted to check that I have interpreted it all correctly. So I keep using it every day around the same time, the closer I get to ovulation a test line will appear and get darker as it approaches. When the test and control line are the same shade ovulation occurs within 48 hours. Does this sound about right? Do I only test once a day?
Im sure theres a thread about this somewhere else so sorry if im doubling up. Still new to all this TTC stuff!

@MeeShell: You read the instructions just fine. However, I would suggest to test twice a day, so you dont miss your surge. I test first thing in the morning and then in the afternoon after work. GL

I agree with @MrsR4ever: I test twice at day at the same times she does. Also you should O between 24-72 hours after your positive. I normally test positive for two days. I don’t O until 2-3 days later. If you are charting your temperature will be the only thing to CONFIRM O. Since OPK’s just detect the surge. GL

I also test twice a day when I know O is near (you’ll get to know your body and what day you O. It shouldn’t vary much, if at all, from month-to-month). I test at around noon and again in the early evening after work. For me, my lines don’t tend to “fade in” like other ladies’ do. I’ll have pretty much stark white negatives and then BAM!…..super dark positive, or almost positive. You’ll get the hang of it. Good luck!
