i have the same issue. i definitely think you could glam up the eye a bit. maybe a dark grey/purple smoky eye? just don’t overdo it. i personally would avoid a strong “lip” but go for something more with the eyes!

ps i am someone who uses minimal makeup day to day, but will be rocking the fake eyelashes on my big day. if you are like me, you have none. it’s weird, but looks amazing in pics.

good luck!

Are you trying to disguise your freckles? I think that they are adorable 🙂 I have always wanted freckles and when I have clients with them I get super excited because they are so unique and adorable.

If you want to glam it up on your big day them false lashes go a long way, deepen the brows by adding a little color and even a dif shade of lipstick. Check out http://bajatetodo.files.wordpress.com/2008/06/lohan-lindsay-photo-lindsay-lohan-6234296.jpg

I’m in the same boat as you – I’m freckly, head to toe.

My suggestion would be to do a smokey eye, but in more warm, brown/gold tones. That’s what I usually do. The smokey eye doesn’t always have to be in grey/black/white highlight. I usually go with a brown/gold/warmwhite highlight.

Hmm. Pictures.

Like this:

I then use a dark brown mascara.

I usually use:

Mac: Bronze (dark brown), Honesty (warm goldish bronze), and Phloof! (warm white).

I’d suggest getting the Phloof! anyway – it’s a terrific highlighter. I love it.

Hopefully that helps! The little bit of gold always does the trick.

Well, hey! We’re getting married on the same day 🙂

..and we’re both freckled 🙂

First things first–don’t cover up those freckles, they are adorable! I’ve been stuck on what to do for make up also, and all I know is that I’ll be needing lots of waterproof stuff!

You look beautiful in your picture, and I think it would be just fine to keep things simple for the wedding–simple eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara, some powder since you definitely don’t need any concealer (I’m so jealous!) and then just a nice lip color, not red, not pink, maybe a darker nude color? If you do want to try the smokey eye make sure you lips are a subdued color like nude/caramel colored! It will look a bit more natural.

I hope you figure something out, I’m definitely stuck on make-up myself!

Hi Shannon,

I would suggest using a sheer liquid foundation or a tinted moisturizer and focus on making your skin glow with highlighting and letting your freckles show through instead of covering them up. I definitely think you can pull off a dramatic eye, but keeping it looking clean.

I like this photo of megan fox, her skin is glowing and her eyes are dark and dramatic but you can tell that her eye shadow doesnt smoke up too much, leaving the area between the brow bone and crease clean and free of color. Also keeping the color on your cheeks neutral and more peach than pink will draw more attention to the eyes.

Hope that helped!

Freckles are unique and beautiful, don’t hide them. But if you just want to minimize their appearance simply us loose mineral powder and a bronzer. Cheat by just making up eyes and lips!
