200 sounds like a lot to me.. Since they are doing it outside of a salon I would just pay the 200.. no tip

I always tip 20%. I believe thats standard, but $200 is a lot for that!

I would definitely tip, especially since she is a friend of a friend. If you are happy with the makeup, an 18-20% tip would probably be appropriate.

Wow 200 is quite a lot! I’m having a makeup trial this weekend and it’s 40 bucks, actual day is 80. I’m thinking a 20% tip as well!

Um, I am looking for a MUA in LA!!!!   I would love the recommendation.  I have also heard the thing about not tipping the business owner, and I am never sure…

Well it depends. I am very reasonabily priced in the D.C area and some brides and bridesmaid have tipped me according to if they were happy with the makeup look. So far I have done very well and made god tips, but for me tip is optional. Though if they are charging somewhat in the $70-$80 range, its good to tip them in the 15% or 20% range. It is totally up to the clients.
