I’m probably using Bobbi Brown.  I really love how natural the colors in her line are.

I’ll be using MakeupForever’s primer (unless I go with the Monistat chafing cream) and fixer also.

I think it just comes down to preference.  I think pretty much all of BB’s liquid foundations have SPF, so you have to use her stick foundation for flash photography.  I’m under the impression MakeupForever and MAC have liquid foundations without SPF.

Be careful with mineral make up. I’ve heard it doesn’t photograph well!

I did my own makeup and i mostly used Urban Decay. The lipstick was NYX because I fell in love with the color that I found at Ulta.

I seem to make a LOT of facial expressions LOL, but the point of the second picture is to show the eyeshadow on the lids.

@subola:  How long until your wedding? Can you try out the products beforehand to make sure you don’t have any weird reactions?

I am always iffy about trying a whole slew of new products at once. I’d stick with whatever brands you normally use.

I love Clinique and Urban Decay personally. I find most Mac products too much – like the lipgloss is sticky etc. but it’s not like I’ve tried everything they offer. I have sensitive skin and I generally am ok w. Clinique. Urban Decay makes great eye products and I especially love their Primer Potion (to keep eye shadow in place) and their eye shadows.

I have heard mineral makeup (such as BE) doesn’t photograph well. It’ll say on the container if it’s mineral based or not.

If I was to have a do-over for my day-of make-up, I probably would have used Smashbox for foundation and UD for eyeshadow.

I used all MAC except for Make-Up Forever for the setting powder.  It was good, it lasted for the most part, but mind you it was the dead of winter.  I did find by the end of the night it was mostly coming off after I was dancing up a storm.

Each of those brands suck or excel at different things so mix and match. Don’t buy just one brand. If you wanted to use just one brand I would go with Laura Mercier or Bobbi Brown, they are much better quality than MAC or Urban Decay.

Mineral make up does photograph like shit. Lots of people love MUFE HD Foundation. I think it’s too heavy for wedding make up personally, it photographs well but up close it looks like wall paint but each to their own.

I had airbrush for my day but if I were to pick a brand it would be makeupforever HD! I experimented with it before the wedding and liked it but opted to go with airbrush instead. I def prefer makeup forever to Mac!

@rosworms:  I love your hair and nails!  You guys look so cute, and the facial expressions just add to the pics.  Stunning!

@DBGolightly:  That’s not at all true. Mineral makeup photographs just fine.

@subola:  Hi, fellow Kzoo bride! I recommend letting the MUA choose the brands. Where are you getting your hair/makeup done?
