I have read and heard raves about a specific make-up artist in my area who specializes in airbursh make-up. I’ve seen her work online and thought everyone looked pretty good – natural and flawless. I can’t say I was blown away, but I don’t really know much about make-up. Anyway, the salon where I’m getting my hair and bm’s hair done specifically recommends this make-up artist. I haven’t received a quote from her yet, but on her website it’s $286 for bridal make-up. This includes the trial, fake eyelash application, a touch up kit, and day of application.
Is this a good price? I was floored – I mean, I could get another bridesmaid dress and more for that amount. I would like to have my make-up done professionally and can honestly say that I’ve never had a good experience with that (for proms, friend’s weddings, etc). I can try to do my own make-up, but that’s not really my talent. Is $286 worth it? Any advice is helpful!

that’s not a terrible price, but it’s not exactly a deal either. does it include travel? if yes, i would go for it, but if not, i would look elsewhere.

I’m not sure where you live but in my area, for a good MU artist, it is usually $100-$150 for the bride(includes trial and lashes) and $60-$80 for bridesmaids.
Unless this MUA can work miracles, I would go elsewhere.

I said it’s reasonable becuase I know airbrush is generally more $$$

I paid about $200 for mine so depending on your area it doesn’t sound too outrageous.
I absolutely loved mine and would have gladly paid $300 for it if I had to.

It’s expensive, but not completely outrageous. I think the difference is she is lumping everything together. My girl is a la cart
Airbrush makeup 95
Lip Gloss 10
= 195 and this doesnt include a “kit”
I am not doing a trial though

Thank you (everyone) for your thoughts! This is helpful. The wedding is in Louisville, KY which isn’t as expensive as larger cities. Kitzy – travel is free for me since I’m in her area. Otherwise it’s another $100+…

Yep, definitely depends on where you live. I’m doing airbrushing make up with faux lashes, trial, etc., and that’s around what I’m paying. But… that’s downtown Chicago, which is always more pricey.
