I did take photos with the first one and they looked fine apart from when you photographed further then my neck and you could see the colour difference. I know it needs to be heavy for the photo’s but i also have people actually looking at me in real life and i dont want to look too cakey or orange.

Definitely find someone else. There is zero sense in paying for that – you might as well pay a 12-year-old to do it!

Unless you asked her to use liquid eyeliner and make the smokey effect less intense, she definitely did not do it right. I do this look alot when I go out and I use a eyeliner pencil on the top lash line, making the line wider as I reach the outside corner of my eye, then I apply a lighter color eyeshadow to the entire eyelid up to the eyebrow, and over top of that I apply a darker color in the eyelid crease and overtop of the eyeliner pencil line that I did on lash line and smudge it. You are basically trying to make the outer corner of your eye darker than the inner corner which also makes your eyes appear to be further apart from where they are (in case you have eyes that a slightly closer to each other, like mine).

As for the cakey/orange issues, you might want to try sampling foundations and powders to see which ones oxidize (turn orange) and which one’s don’t, and then ask the MUA to use the foundation that you liked best.

That’s awful!! Plain bad!! I’m not sure who your MUA is, but she/he has absoluetly NO concept of how to apply makeup!! A dark smokey eye can be very flattering as your inspirational picture shows, but what the MUA did on you is not even close. It looks like they drew a fat line on your lid and then put highlight/shadow on the rest of your lid. There is no gradation, no contour, no blending, etc.!! I would definitely find a new MUA!!

SI I went and had another one with someone new. Showed her the same picture and this is what I got! I told her the colour of my dress and she went with what she would look best. I love it and vookes her on the spot!
