@rdevaney:  I don’t think that lip color is very flattering and you’re very pretty but the rest of the look seems pretty basic to me.  Have you watched any YouTube tutorials on contouring and highlighting?  I really recommend Jaclyn Hill.  Your eye makeup should be more intense too, more shading at the crease and definitely no black eyeliner on your bottom lid– it closes your eyes off and makes them look smaller.

I think you’re naturally beautiful, but really, watch some Jaclyn Hill videos on YouTube, she’s great at teaching techniques.

@rdevaney:  Okay well let me try and help you out πŸ™‚

First off, you are gorgeous and the false lashes are a awesome touch! I don’t think it is an aweful look and is totally okay for everyday use but it could be so much better!

Background: I have SUPER sensitive skin and have a very rare type of eczema. I did my own DIY for the wedding and it was VERY different from anything I had practiced. However, every time I practiced I learned how to better apply the make up I was using.

Advice: I personally think the that the lip color is wrong for you and that the foundation looks like it may not have good pigmentation. The eyes could be a little darker on the top corners and be a little less on the bottom. Maybe use youtube for some tutorials πŸ™‚

Here is a list of products that worked wonderfully for me and my skin:

For my flaky and irritated skin I used Arbonne face wash (gentle dily wash and seaweed scrub)

After I chilled my skin with a cold wet cloth and then added a good amount of lotion, the brand is VaniCream.

Now for the makeup in order of use:

Arbonne: primer

Urban Decay Chill settling spray

Bare minerals foundation in my color

NYC loose face powder in a slightly darker color than my skin (for conturing)

Arbonne black liquid liner (for inner top eyelid)

Arbonne charcoal pencil liner (for rest of eye)

Arbonne brown pencil liner (for eyebrows)

Stila eyeshadow pallete

Katy Perry false lashes

NYC Lip stain

I think you should do more for your eyes…remember that for your wedding you want a heavier look than your “everyday” look so that you don’t get washed out in pictures.  I can’t tell if you’re wearing blush or not (maybe your hair is covering it?) I definitely like the false eyelashes though πŸ™‚

@rdevaney:  I always felt weird wearing nothing on the bottom too!  I went and got my makeup professionally done for a friends wedding and the stylist didn’t put a lower lid liner on my eye, because she felt it was too dark for a wedding.  If felt like it might look weird., but I got a million compliments.

I started doing a wing tip eye liner on my top eye, and stopped doing my lower lid.  I felt that it looked weird at first, but then I got used to it.  Now doing a lower eye liner feels weird.  Its a heavier look, although I still do it for clubbing, ect.

I like your winged eye and the false eyelashes, but I would consider thickening up the line on your upper lid liner and getting rid of the lower lid liner.  (You can use mascara on your lower lashes to define you lower lid.)  I would also do a more dramatic palatte of eye shadow colors on your eye.  (I’m not even sure you are wearing eyeshadow.)    As PPs have suggested, there are a million wedding tutorials on youtube to choose from.  They are super helpful.

Also, I would do a light pink or more natural redish color on your lips.  The dark mauve is too much for a wedding.

Your very pretty, you’ll look great!

I think a bit lighter lip color, and a more intense eyeshadow would look really nice. By intense, I don’t mean OMG LOOK AT ALL THIS SHADOW – but some shading would look nice. I personally like the eyeliner on your bottom lid. I think bottom liner only closes some eyes when it’s all the way across, and on the waterline. You’re very pretty!

It doesn’t look bad. I just feel like it’s too much an every day look. Not enough Omph to it. What does your dress look like? What are your wedding colors?
