Hello to all you lovely bees,
Late last year I posted photos of my makeup and hair trial and got some mixed reviews and I agreed with a lot of posters who said it could be better.
Today I went to another makeup and hair trial with a different stylist and wanted to get some honest feedback. I have only shown my maid of honour so far and she loves it and doesn’t think I should change a thing but I wanted a few more opinions before I book it in.

Just for reference, these are pics from the first trial I went to last year that I wasn’t completely happy with.

I think your make up looks much better! So pretty. It highlights your lovely features so much more now. However I must say I prefer your hair from the 1st trial to this one. The previous trial looks younger while this trail is more mature and “stiff”. I say this all without knowing what your dress looks like. Maybe seeing that will help visualize it altogether?

Your hair is beautiful!!
Your make up is two extremes in these photos. Which one is more you?

CarolinaJames : Thanks for your feedback! As requested here is a pic of me in my dress!

smoocheepoo : thank you! Well I don’t know about it being more “me” but I liked how my eyes look more defined in today’s trial rather than the previous trial and I feel like the makeup complements my eye shape. However it is very different to the previous trial and I am afraid that it might look too dramatic or like I’m wearing too much makeup?

bridetobeannie : No, it’s not too much, you look beautiful. You just need to be comfortable with it! I think the hair, make up, and dress all complement perfectly!!

bridetobeannie : still liking the 1st hair better. Maybe the stylist can make it a mix between the two for a happy medium? The first with your dress feels more fun and whimsical, I think it matches your dress so much better. While parts of it does feel a litttle messy, I think cleaning up those areas like the 2nd could potentially work. If that makes any sense haha.

bridetobeannie : I love this!
I think your hair is beautiful and goes very well with your elegant dress.
For your make-up, I think it’s better than the previous one, too. It makes a better statement. The only thing I could think of recommending is a big of highlighter right above your lips, a little at the top of your cheeks, and if you prefer, perhaps more defined contouring on your jawline, forehead, and nose for more definition.
Looks great, anyhow!

starrynight898 : exactly what I was going to say on the makeup. I love the new make up so much more.
Your hair is lovely. I’d ask for more volume to frame your face and at the crown.

I agree with The other Bees that the make up knocks it out of the park but also prefer your hair in the first trial.
Your hair in the second is too structured and honestly looks a bit weird from the side.. first hairstyle is soft and romantic and I feel suits your face and dress better :).
You’ll make a beautiful bride 🙂

Love love love the new makeup! You look stunning! I agree with others that the second hairstyle could be a little softer, more volume, and more face framing. But in the end, it’s what you like best 🙂

love the new makeup and hair! you’re going to look great

I think the makeup looks amazing! And I LOVE the hair from this trial. The only thing I would maybe change is go ask for a little more volume around your face to loosen it up just a tad. I’m really not a fan of the hairstyle from your first trial at all.

Ok, so I studied these both because you mentioned feeling like you have too much make up on in the second. While overall the application is great in the second, the colors in the first are lighter, but also the eye make up is lighter.
I would go with the second artist but do a lighter, younger lip and cheek color. I would try a soft blushing pink cheek and a nude pink lip with a bit of light gloss over it in center for a fresh, clean bridal look. I would leave the emphasis on your eyes in your case.
The second artist did your cheeks beautifully and the eye make up is great. But when you do such a heavy eye for bridal, unless the dress is very stylized/theme requiring a dark lip, a lighter lip looks much more bridal. Esp with your dress.
The first trial she used a bit of a coral, which looks nice on you, but might be too much with the darker eyes. Your lips have good shape so you don’t need a dark lip for emphasis.
Hair I leave to PP, I actually like them both but I’m always for a little well done mess and a little height at the crown unless it’s a super simple, elegant style dress with a pulled back bun or chignon. Your dress feels a little looser to me than the second hair style.
Lastly, and this is super picky but it bothered me, I would ask her to go with a silver instead of gold highlight inner eye under eye. So the overall color palette should be a little cooler and lighter, esp if you go with a pink nude lip. But even with this rose color, the gold just feels heavy to me with your skin tone and that color palette.
Your dress says innocent, light, bridal. So that’s what the make up should read imo.
