Hey date twin!  I have only just started looking for makeup, since I figure these types of vendors can do multiple brides a day.  I do however, have my hair booked since I’m just using my regular girl.  I’m going to have my hair trial in January, I’ve been giving it time to grow out a little.

underblueskies1016 :  I would start looking now – I just got married last month but booked mine shortly after we got engaged (over a year out).  I used a hair and makeup team I knew, but I imagine others would book up pretty quickly for spring + fall weddings.  I didn’t have my trial until two months before the wedding (I had a second trial two days before the wedding because I realized I didn’t want an updo!), but felt more comfortable booking to get it out of the way.  I’ve seen a lot of bees hate their hair and makeup trials too, which made me want to look early.

ETA: If it matters, my hair and makeup team traveled to me and did myself, 6 bridesmaids, and both mine and my DH’s mother’s hair and makeup.  They were there from 7am to nearly 3pm.

You can definitely start looking now! I booked mine out a year because she is so popular, and that’s with an off season wedding. I had my trial the day of my engagement pics.

Start looking now. I booked my hair and makeup in November 2014 and I got married April 2015. The first makeup artist I reached out to was already booked for my wedding date. Never too early in my opinion! Also never too early to have your trials so if you don’t like the work, you can find someone else in time.

We’re getting married on Septeber 23 2017 and I already booked my hair and make up artist. We are having a large bridal party and I wanted to make sure that everyone would have their hair and make-up done

I booked hair and makeup a year out, because I wanted someone to come onsite – which makes it harder for her to do more than one wedding a day.

However, she couldn’t do all of my BMs and MOH/MOG, which I only found out ~4 months before wedding. I booked a second hair and makeup artist then to join forces. I was happy with both.

The long and short of it is, I think you can do it as early as you want, or a few months out. Have fun!

My wedding is September 16th, 2017 and I have booked a hair and make-up artist. it’s definitely not too early to look especially if you want them to come to you. A lot of them only do one wedding per day. My sister waited to long to book hers and ended up with a mediocre make up artist and we had to go to a hair salon for our hair because she could not find anyone to come to her house.
