@yumiyumi:  Yes, it’s the powder that is the main culprit I think….but I’m not sure I want to take  any chances, which is also why I may avoid using the bare minerals as well (I’ve heard some people say it gives flashback as well, but others say it doesn’t)

@janetsnakehole:  Great, will do! We don’t have a Bobbi Brown nearby but I’ll look into it. Thanks!

I’m looking for a long wear lipstick in peach or soft coral. Do you have any suggestions?

Sorry if this has already been asked, I haven’t read through all of the comments.  I’m getting my engagement pictures done on Sunday (YAY!), but I’m breaking out!  There are several zits on my chin and jawline that are really obvious and I want to cover those bad boys up!  What inexpensive products would you recommend?

@janetsnakehole:  Thank you for answering my questions.  I’m afraid I’ve got two more that I’m hoping you’ll be able to answer for me.

1) My wedding is outside and even though it’s in April, I burn insanely easily due to medications I take.  I also am highly allergic to the majority of sunscreens.  The only one I’ve found that works for me is Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Dry Touch 100 SPF.  Will I be able to wear this under my makeup?  I’m thinking I’ll opt for airbrushed makeup.

2) Because my medications make me hyper sun-sensitive, I’ve had incredibly limited sun exposure for years and am very very pale.  Think almost Morticia Addams pale.  Will my make up artist be able to match my skin tone when I’m so much paler than most of their clients?  Spray tans aren’t me and I don’t want to have an orange face because the foundation is much too dark.

@janetsnakehole:  Thanks for answering! I tried one so far and had that problem, so if they’re all like that I’ll just forget about it and get a cream lipstick. I’d rather have to reapply than have dry flaky lips.

@Brideonabudgetlauren:  I’m not a makeup artist, but I am a fan of a home remedy. Just mix one part neosporin, one part toothpaste, one part clearasil (or similar product- topical acne cream), one part facial mask. Mix it together and apply to trouble spots and keep it on overnight.  It sounds crazy, but it really helps heal/clear up blemishes quickly for me! And then a make-up artist may have advice on how to cover it up 🙂

Hi bees, I’m doing my own wedding makeup as I’m never happy when anyone else does it – and I LOVE makeup so it’s been quite fun researching and trying different stuff. Obviously everyone and their skin is different but these are my best buys that might be useful to some of you!

Primer – Laura mercier, literally disappears on your skin but makes lovely and smooth base

Foundation – Dior skin forever ( their brush is great too) gives a Matt but radiant finish that lasts, love this

Eyeshadow primer – urban decay, tiny amount needed but makes such a difference I also use minus eyeshadow for even skin day time look

Dior eyeshadows- super smooth, last forever blend beautifully

Bobbi brown gel eye liner- great colours will not budge ( their brush is great too for this so so easy to apply!)

Blusher – Bobbi brown great shades and staying power

Clarins waterproof clear mascara *wonder product*!!!!!

stick it on over your usual mascara, does not flake run or move!!! I hate waterproof mascara as it smudges on me but this was the answer love love love it!!!

They are all fab finds that I would recommend!

Hope this is useful as there are sooooo many products out there it’s hard to know where to start! X

Can you recommend a concealor that doesn’t settle into fine lines? Or an application technique that helps prevent it?

Thank you so much for doing this!

My questions:

1)  Eyeliner!

What is the best waterproof eyeliner for oily lids?  Do you have a favorite brand?  Would you recommend using cake eyeliner with a waterproof sealer such as MUFE’s Eye Seal or Kryolan’s CEL Sealer?

2)  False lashes!

Do you have a favorite brand of falsies?  Any specific lashes?
