Hi! Sorry this comes a little late. If you haven’t found someone by now, check out Ligia Centeno: makeoversbyligia.com

I don’t know if she “specializes” per se in makeup for African-American skin, but she herself is a woman of color and many of her clients are as well. She has several photo galleries on her website so you can see her work there. She’s got additional images on her facebook, too, I believe. She comes very highly rated by a number of wedding-related websites.

She is my makeup artist and I had my trial with her about a month ago. She works out of Malden but will travel on the day of your event. I can’t personally vouch for how she does makeup on WoC – I’m very fair – but the ladies of color featured on her website look fantastic! From what I saw, she has quite a range of base makeup tones/shades, so I think she’d be a good bet.

I hope this helps! Where in Boston are you getting married?

I too am looking for a make-up artist for African American women.  Ligia seems a bit pricey but if anyone knows of anymore, please respond.  I am not sure if this is the normal rate but it is a bit out of my budget.

@sweetcocoanut:  Thanks for posting.
