i booked and paid my makeup artist in full 3 months before my wedding and actually used her for my engagement shots makeup 5 months before my wedding. so why did she email me on Sunday informing me that she has to come do my makeup 4 hours before my wedding which means she would come at 7:15 am which would be before my hairstylist comes.
i am so upset because she has another wedding thay she never mentioned that is the same time as my wedding!!!
what can i do now?????

Wow what time is your wedding? If it’s hours and hours in advance I would want to cancel and find someone else so your makeup is still fresh by the time things start. I am surprised your MUA thinks that’s ok…

Oh wow I just realized you have THREE days to do this! Sorry! Hopefully somebody else will take pity on you and be available to do makeup at an appropriate time, as well as give you a trial run.

yes my wedding is now in 2 days and I am thinking about just finding a friend who does her own makeup well and winging it. My ceremony is at 11 am but we are taking pictures at 10 am. i would prefer her to be there at 9am but since she is being very inflexible about coming at 7:15 I think I am stuck with makeup 2 hours earlier than I planned and my hair stylist will just have to work around it.
I am annoyed and asked for a refund last night; now I am feeling like I need to ask her to to go ahead and do it at 7:15 because I don’t have time to find someone else!!!

that is really inconvenient, I’m sorry you’re going through this. I know it’s difficult but please try to look for the positives – at least she isn’t cancelling on you right before your day. She is bang out of line, but at the end of your day you and your love will be married, you will be a beautiful bride and you will have had a great day – don’t let something like this spoil it. She should have told you earlier, and I would for sure leave negative reviews, but wait till after your day first.
Hope you’re ok.

@proverbs131: I got my makeup done before my hair and it was perfect. I would not add the extra stress of finding a new makeup artist. 715 makeup for 10 pictures is good timing. Plus, youi will wake up so early that day with excitement anyways that you might as well have something to do.

Are you having airbrush or regular makeup done? I know that my MUA will be doing my airbrush makeup for our 3:00pm ceremony at 10:15am before I do my hair, too. It is quite common for them to book more than one wedding per day, and accommodate more than one bride’s schedule. I know that mine reassured me that airbrush makeup lasts up to 15 hours, and that there’s no need to worry that it’s not being done immediately before the ceremony. If this is the case with yours and she is using airbrush, she probably didn’t see any reason to tell you about the other wedding because your makeup will have staying power all day no matter what time it’s done.
